[googlefont="Griffy"][googlefont="Indie Flower"] SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS No life is more important than another. And nothing has been without purpose. Nothing. Now Volterra would always be Janes home, Aro and Alec where there. But she did use to stay within the castle but well she was within Volterra she was untouchable. Down to the fact that she was so close to the Palazzo Volturi that all she needed to do was to walk for a couple minutes and she would be at doors to the manor which were guarded but as it was vampire residence the guards were out of sight but could still see who was coming and going.
The way she saw it was this was her domain within Volterra she had the power to decide what happened she knew all the vampires who resided within the town at least the ones of interest anyhow, she also made sure they lived side by side with the mortals as Volturi had ruled in place for a reason and Volterra was home to the Volturi as much as it was to humans who call it home. And outside of the manor, she was the highest authority unless one of the leaders was with her.
Now, she was at the top of clock tower she did not need guards in Volterra, but there were guards watching her but they were out of sight. Something about the view amazed her and you could see the Volturi manor and at night it was lit up with the lights of houses around it, it was a sight to see Aro had never come up to see it; but he was too busy and jane often left the manor; she never went far encase Aro needed her to carry out tasks for him.
So many vampires came and went from Volterra for this and that, some to ask Volturi for favours some who have been brought to them for execution as they have no doubt broken one of Volturi golden rules. But she could hear footsteps behind her, but now her pendant was hidden, so unless you knew who she was you would have no idea who or what she was. As her pendant was under her jacket. You know creeping up on someone is a good way to end up getting hurt.” She only needed eye contact for her power to take effect and she could control how strong or weak it could be.

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] If this is to end in fire we should all burn together Volterra was a beautiful city. It had been a moment of vanity when they named the city after themselves, and a moment of irony that the town still celebrated Saint Marcus Day. Ah his dear brother, how hard it must have been to rid the entire city of vampires. He did not often leave the Volturi's home, that was true, but he'd heard plenty of good things about the view from the clock tower from the guards that did enjoy exploring the city. It seemed so long since he'd seen it. "Bellissima." He said softly, smiling at the view before him. When he reached the top of the clocktower he smiled. It seemed he wasn't the only one enjoying the view tonight, and it didn't take the girl long to realize she was no longer alone. It wasn't difficult to guess what she was planning to do to the intruder. She was so easily turned to violence when faced with any possible threat. It made him proud really. Still, he could not help but chuckle at the idea of Jane unleashing her power on him. Many humans would have dismissed the threat easily enough, having no idea of her true capabilities. She was only a teenager after all, how much harm could she do? Fellow vampires who knew what, and more importantly who she was would be terrified. The girl in front of him had made a name for herself in their world. "Are you going to harm me, dear Jane?" He asked, looking quite amused as he walked forward, putting a hand on her shoulder. Had any other guard threatened him so, he might have called them impertinent. He'd certainly think them foolish, but the very idea of Jane unleashing her gift on him to hurt him was ludicrous. He'd asked her to use her gift on him once, purely out of curiosity. It had been excruciating. What a talent his darling girl had, and she clearly loved using it to torture those who defied the Volturi. He has broken his own laws in turning Jane and her brother, but it had been well worth any scrutiny he came under to have such precious gems in Volterra. Such potential, such power, but he had not expected to grow to care for them as he had. He'd given little thought to the idea of having children since he was turned, and yet somehow they'd become his own. Notes and things can go here

Now Aro was Jane's saving grace, not only did he save her from being burned alive he also raised and trained her to some level, even if she already knew how to use her power to get what she wanted. But without him, Jane and Alec may have fallen in with the wrong crowd say the Romanians. Jane and Alec helped overthrow them and in doing so allowed the Volturi to become the dominate ruling coven of the vampire world. But without Jane and Alec Aro may never have had the power to overthrow the Romanians, but she not changes anything Aro has been the only father she had really known.
Whenever Jane left Volterra, she was always followed by at least six guards. She was not really a strong fighter so she counted on them to protect her, sure she could fight if she was backed into a corner, but her power was her strength. It is one of the reasons that Jane is never alone. She always had guards with her, no matter where she goes. Aro did not give her choice in that respect. If anything happened to the twins, then the Volturi might end up falling As they made up the bulk of the guard's powers.
It took her a few moments to notice that the vampire behind her was none other than her Master, at first she felt little worried about threatening him. But he knows that Jane hates it when someone sneaks up on her. But be four she could speak she felt his hand on her shoulder; Alec and Aro were only ones who she would allow to touch her. "Are you going to harm me, dear Jane?" She had used it on him once, but that was at his request, and she hated every minute of it.
"Forgive my words, Master, I did not expect or know that it was you. if I had known I would greet you correctly." She now felt little bad about threatening her father, and the vampire who gave her all that she has today. " I just don't often see others out at this time, let alone someone with your standing Master." She had seen other vampires walking about, but they knew the rules and if they broke them Jane would see to it that they never do it again. She then simply looked at him and then turned back to looking over the town.
Master may I ask you something, I heard it from someone a couple of days ago and it really hit me hard. What if we are all unique, and the universe loves us all equally? So much so that it bends over backwards across the centuries for each and every one of us. And sometimes we are just lucky enough to see it. You where I and my brother's luck without you would be nothing but ash. So i wonder if universe brought you to us or us to you.

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] If this is to end in fire we should all burn together As one of the highest ranked members of the guard, it was only natural that Jane should be accompanied by other members of the guard to protect her if things went wrong. Her gift was powerful, yes, but that didn't mean someone wouldn't catch her off guard. For all her power, she was not the most talented fighter when she couldn't rely on her gift, and their recent meeting with Edward Cullen's little mate had only served to remind them that their gifts were not infallible. Given the fact that she was always surrounded by others, both in Volterra and on missions, he could understand the appeal of having a refuge in her own home. It was only natural that she might want to get away from everyone for a while. Even he needed a reprieve from the rest of the coven sometimes. Jane was quick to apologize once she realized who it was she had threatened. "It is alright dear one." He said simply. He knew her well enough not to have put much stock in the threat. "Are you well Jane?" He asked. It seemed like such a trite question, but he was curious all the same. She was one of his most trusted, most beloved coven members, and as such it was her he sent to handle the worst lawbreakers. Did it wear on her? He could not blame her if it did. A millennium of dealing with criminals would be trying for anyone, but it needed to be done and Jane's effectiveness could not be doubted. He looked out toward the city in thought, considering the girl's question. As a young man he'd believed in things like fate and destiny wholeheartedly, but that belief had faded over time. He hadn't even considered such things lately as more than a passing fancy. Life was dictated by the choices that you and the people around you made, not by some all-knowing being. Yet, he had no desire to crush Jane's hopes. The idea that some omniscient force was looking out for you, guiding you through the ages to the people who would come to mean the most to you was a comforting thought to those who believed in it. "Perhaps there was something leading us to one another. I suppose there is no way to truly know." He had been led to the twins yes, but by Eleazar and his gift, not by destiny. Nudge for changes!

Jane was not as religious as such, but she did believe in the whole higher power thing. Not only that she believed that she was granted her powers to right wrongs and punish those who harm the ones who she loves and ones who break the rules of the Volturi. She had been the Volturi watch dog for decades, always there to deal out punishments and bring vampires back with her to Volterra when under orders from Aro to do so. But most times all it would take to maintain order was to use her power on the said vampire in question.
She loved Aro and Alec but never showed her emotions to anyone besides Alec but that always behind closed doors. emotions were a weakness and Jane could not be seen to be weak or others may begin to think that she was, and that would piss her off to the point where she would have to use her power on everyone who thought she was weak. She was not a fighter, but with her power, she never needed to fight one on one. She could take an opponent down without putting her life at risk, and she always had guards to do the hard work for her. "I am well Master, just needed a break from the manor. Sometimes it even becomes too much for me."
"Perhaps there was something leading us to one another. I suppose there is no way to truly know." That was true maybe it was some divine power or maybe it was just dumb luck, but what ever it was Jane was glad that he came when he did, as she was terrified of being burn alive, its why she hates and is terrified of fire to this day. If anyone comes close to her with fire she will subdue them and if not she would look for someone to stand behind. Aro was like a father to her as she never really knew her real one as she was always fighting in this war or that war.

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] If this is to end in fire we should all burn together Even if he had been a religious man, Aro was raised under a different belief system than the twins he now viewed as his own children. Back then stories of Greek gods whom history now dubbed myths, were spread far and wide. Everyone made their way to ancient altars and temples and offered up what they could, begging for blessings or mercy from the gods. He vaguely remembered going his with own family, but that was a very long time ago. He'd returned, partly out of curiosity and partly out of some lingering sentimentality for the place he was born, to the village where he and Didyme grown up in after the rise of Christianity. It was interesting, comparing the way that the citizens' beliefs and ways of worship changed, as well as the similarities. "What is it that you believe my dear?" Had he ever asked her? If so, it must have been a very long time ago. Jane was a sight to behold when she was punishing those who went against them. To see such a small, petite girl have men and women cowering before her. Only a fool would think her weak after that. Together with her brother they were nearly and unstoppably pair. "Yes, I suppose we all need a break from time to time." He said understandingly. A vampire. A soulless monster. He had called his kind such to Isabella. There were times that he believed it wholeheartedly. It made it easier, the murder, the torture, forcing others to join their coven unwillingly. It used to be harder, back when they'd first grasped power from the Romanian coven. It used to pain him to take the lives of his brethren, but over the years he'd become more and more detached, until he felt nothing as he watched a whole coven burn before him. Nothing that is, except disappointment at the loss of any gifts they may have had. Yet there were a few people who kept his hope in a vampire's soul alive. The list of those he truly cared for was short, but he adored every person on it. Notes and things can go here

"What is it that you believe my dear?"Jane really had no idea how to respond to that question, she did not believe in God as such. But she did believe in a higher power dictating her actions, she was saved from burning alive for a reason and her unholy powers that were given to her was so she could punish the ones who harm her or her brother, she was Volturi as member of the guard and she would follow Aro to the ends of the earth if he asked her to. The same as she would die for Alec if she had to.
What do I believe in Master, well I don't put much stock in some person dictating my life choices, but I do believe that some higher power is guiding my hand other than yours of course Master? Can't say, Alec, shares my thoughts but he is welcome to his own view and I won't try to change it or force him to believe in what I do." She had never really had a chance to speak Aro like she was doing now, she loved her power and her job, but at times she misses her mother. She was always there for her and now she is nothing but dust and bones.
"Yes, I suppose we all need a break from time to time." she nodded and looked back to him, she needed a break from time to time but Aro needed it more than she ever would, after all, he had to run an entire coven so her job was a lot less stressful. At least when it came to Volturi matters, She hates Bella with every fibre of her body but she was under orders not to harm her so all she could do is glare at her and look into her soul if she ever had one. Jane sure as hell had no soul, she lives with the screams of her Victims. " You need it more than me Master, you have to run the coven I just go out and torture people, Caius agrees with me, maybe you should take a holiday.

Am I an angel or demon? Cause I'm hell and I'm heaven.
If there was something that Alec enjoyed changing over time, it was the architecture. As a human, so young back then, he'd dreamed of flying. Not because he wanted an escape but because he wanted to be closer to the sky. That maybe he'd be able to touch it if he got close enough. He'd wanted to take Jane with him because he wanted his twin to be with him, to join his in that dream. Of course, back then the sky didn't seem too far away. Now he knew better, that the sky wasn't touchable and that it was so much higher, miles above them. Sometimes, he wondered what their human parents would have thought of him and Jane now, of Aro and the Volturi. He hoped they'd be proud but he would never know, so he tried to not think about it.
He didn't appreciate the humans version of flying either. Being trapped in airplanes was something that he would never willing do. However, he did appreciate the architecture. The higher, the better in his opinion. You could see so much more, even as a vampire. Often, like tonight, Alec preferred sitting on the roof of the palazzo. While it wasn't the tallest structure, it still had a nice view. Alec flicked his eyes over to the clock tower. He'd seen Jane go up it but had stayed on the roof. Despite what most thought, he and Jane didn't do everything together. They didn't live together, either. As much as he loved his sister, it was nice to have an apartment alone. It was near Jane, however.
He stargazed for a minute before looking across the plaza to see Aro with his sister in the clock tower. He stayed seated, just watching for a moment before standing and crossing the rooftops to get to the clock tower. Right as he approached the tower, ALec heard Jane's voice telling Aro he might need a holiday. He hoisted himself up on to the ledge of an opening near them and grinned.
"Could we talk Caius into letting us make it a family vacation? Just the three of us?"
His voice was half joking, half serious and if any other member of the Volturi heard him, they'd think there was something wrong. Or question his identity. (That'd happened a couple times, actually.) The fact of the matter was that he let the stoicism go around Aro and Jane. They were his family.

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] If this is to end in fire we should all burn together So she did believe in a higher power after all, though she wasn't sure what her brother believed. He'd pondered a similar idea for a while during Carlisle's time with them. The man was so sure of his beliefs that even Aro, ancient as he was, had been swayed for a moment. Jane truly was a treasure. The fact that she'd gotten Caius to agree to anything of the sort was astonishing. He did not doubt of his brothers' abilities to run things on their own, though he suspected Caius would do his level-best to override any peaceful solutions Marcus proposed in response to lawbreaking in favor of his own more violent methods. Alec joined them before long, climbing through a window ledge with ease. Despite what many of their kind thought after seeing them in action, Jane and Alec really were two separate people. They did not always come as a matched set, though their bond with one another could not be denied. He doubted anyone would ever be more important to the two 'witch twins' as many called them, than each other. Maybe one day they would find mates who could accept that, though that may not be for some time. They spent a great deal of time in Volterra, and when they did leave the city it was for missions more often than not. That was hardly a conducive environment for meeting the love of one's life. He knew many vampires had already found their mates by their age, but he was in no great rush to see two of the only children he had married off any time soon. He wasn't opposed to the idea of a family vacation, but this was hardly the ideal time for it. "Perhaps soon, dear ones." There was still do much to take care of. The situation in Seattle was advancing nicely, but at the end of the day Victoria was not a member of their coven. Though she had alerted them to Isabella and the Cullens' misdeeds, he did not trust her to carry out the Cullens' punishment properly on her own. He could not overlook the fact that she'd begun hitting this newborn army of hers before she had their approval to move against the vegetarian vampires. She would have to be watched, and the prime candidates for such an important mission were right before him. Notes and things can go here

It was no secret that Jane and Alec helped The Volturi gain its position as the ruling coven, their powers were used to end the Romanian's rule. Without Jane and Alec there was no telling if Aro could have ever beaten them, but by this time he would have had talented vampires under him so maybe if he never had Jane and Alec and they were saved by someone else would the Volturi be as high and as powerful as they were now. But thankfully that never came to pass as both of twins serve Aro and the Volturi without question.
Now the growing issue within Seattle was only a bush-fire and not a full-blown forest fire. Some vampire by the name Victoria was trying to raise an army. At the moment it was small and little to no threat to any of the major clans most of all the Volturi. But still the Volturi would have to keep tabs on the bush-fire and snuff it out if he looked as if it would become a forest fire. No doubt Aro would send Jane, but she was not going to advice it to him as Aro always made up his mind on where she goes and who she tortures. Sometimes with her brother Alec other times on her own with bodyguards.
She smiled as she sensed her brother, the twins shared a bond that only other twins could understand. When they were close, they could keep each other in check, although it was Alec who kept Jane from flying off the rails into a rage fit. But when they were apart Jane was able to tolerate some degree of bullshit and insults, until it reaches the point where she just cracks and lets all her pent up rage out on someone.
She smiled at him followed by a small nod, as she turned back to Aro when Alec asked him about the trip. He made a point someone would have to go, and Jane seemed like the logical choice. "Brother makes a point Master; we need to get out on top of this. The last thing we need is an army of newborns running around threatening to expose all of us

Am I an angel or demon? Cause I'm hell and I'm heaven.
Alec made himself comfortable on the ledge, not caring about the drop down the side of the clock tower. It wasn't like the crop could even hurt him. Perks of being an immortal vampire, of course. There were plenty of those. There was a singular downside in that he looked like a human 17-year-old, meaning that he wasn't often taken seriously outside of the vampire covens that knew him or of him. It was an annoyance but something that he could usually work in his favor.
Looking at his sister and father, how he referred to Aro in his mind, he wondered what had brought Aro out of the Palazzo. While not an uncommon sight for the leader to be out and about at times, Alec had hardly seen him ascend the steps of the clock tower. Jane, on the other hand, he'd seen her come up several times before so he wasn't surprised to have seen her in the tower. Maybe he’d ask Jane later or perhaps she’d bring it up on her own. He wasn’t going to just up and ask. While he was a little curious, he was also patient.
When Aro actually agreed, he grinned wider. He’d only been half serious but if Aro considered it, Alec was definitely counting it as a win. And then Jane joined in too, which made everything better. However, he knew that it would be a while before they could even take a vacation, given the situation in Seattle and then the vegetarian coven in Forks. Until both situations were resolved, they each had responsibilities to attend to.
Speaking of, Jane brought the matter up so he switched his gaze back to Aro. He knew that someone was going to be assigned to the area, possibly two vampires. However, it had not yet been announced who would be monitoring the vampire Victoria in Seattle and then the Cullen coven in Forks.
