◄ ONE GIRL AGAINST THE BIG BAG VOLTIES There was never going to be a welcome wagon, Saxa knew as much. She had travelled in style, from the moment she arrived at the nearest airport to the hired executive car that dropped her right at the mouth of Volterra. She had asked to be left at the gate, wanting to walk the entire way and take in all of the sights - when one had only heard of the great home worthy enough of the Volturi, it was wise to try and find as many nooks and crannies as possible; needing an escape route was the difference between life and death after an audience with Aro and the doom squad. Saxa wove in and out of the tourists and the locals, waving and smiling as she was greeted in Italian. Of course she had no idea what any of them were saying, but at least their smiles and nods were confirmation that it wasn't negative. Even with the hood of her jacket pulled all the way up and sticking to the shadows, there as no telling where the sunlight might be lurking. Saxa certainly didn't want to give the Volturi any more of a reason to kick her ass than they already did - because when you were invited to showcase your talents for Aro and his guards, refusal didn't often lead to living a long, healthy and undisturbed life. Yet even as Saxa was making her way up the winding paths and narrow alleys, she was actually surprised to be met by two hooded figures. It was impressive, that they had found her so quickly - had the driver that came with the car been on their payroll? Or maybe they had added some new talent to the guard, one could never be sure in the affairs of vampires. "Well, hello. I can't say it took you long, I was really hoping to grab a bite to eat," Saxa tried to diffuse the situation with humour, to try and portray that she wasn't going to be difficult, that they didn't have to-- Regardless of Saxa's attempts, the two figures moved over to her in the blink of an eye and placed her neatly between the two of them. "Then I suppose you Volturi folks only deal in the hard way," Saxa sighed and allowed the two figures to walk her forward before they swerved through an old timey wooden door. Of course the winding corridors were deserted, undoubtedly reserved exclusively for use of the Volturi. Sure, the humans of Volterra were safe, but that didn't mean their vampire overlords particularly liked them. And from the tightening grasp on her arms, Saxa was beginning to think that she was no higher up than a human in their eyes. Before long, Saxa was ushered into a large, marble room - it was undeniably beautiful, and decorated with all manner of designs. Though it was directly opposite that Saxa caught sight of three men, vampires, sitting upon their thrones. "I suppose a cold beverage is out of the question?"

[googlefont="Griffy"][googlefont="Indie Flower"] SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS No life is more important than another. And nothing has been without purpose. Nothing. What if we are all part of a great pattern that we may someday understand? Now Vampires arrived and departed from Volterra just as much as the humans who live there do, but the difference being no humans live to see the inside of The Palazzo, other than in some special cases such as Bella. And it was doubtful she would ever return without being a vampire, after all, she knew about the vampires so she had no choice but to become one or she would be put to death like so many humans before her. Jane hated the Cullen's but she did, however, respect Carlisle, only due to her Master does. And he's never done anything to make her see him as a threat more than she does the other Cullen's.
Jane has only just returned from dealing with a coven of vampires that had exposed themselves to the humans of a town. Of course, Jane and Felix dealt with the coven well the others killed any humans who had found out about vampires. Now she had orders to bring the coven leader back alive, and she had done just that. Sure he had the living crap kicked out of him and feared Jane as she had used her power on him. But Aro gave her orders and she always carried them out. She made her way down the halls of the manor along with the vampire who she was ordered to bring back, she loved using her powers and making others fear her, hell she even got off on it could say.
As she arrived back into the hall she noticed it was void of vampires other than the guards who were on guard duty, and the ones who would have appeared to have brought a girl back with them. If they were being brought to Aro then they must have done something to warranted a visit from the guard. She simply looked to guards who had brought the coven leader back with them and spoke saying. " Throw him into the dungeon, I will torture him Once Master no longer requires me." She then turned to look at the new girl as she made her way to her Master's throne and stood beside it never taking her eyes of the young vampire.

Am I an angel or demon? Cause I'm hell and I'm heaven.
Alec stood slightly behind Aro's throne to the left, between his master and Marcus. His usual position. Normally, he shared his position with Jane. However, his assigned partner currently was Renata. Jane was approaching, he could here, but there was another group as well. As he was behind his master, Alec could not see Aro's full visage but he was sure that his master had his usual pleasant demeanor. Either this was a welcome visitor or someone who approached with no invitation, a rare occurrence.
He kept his face impassive, even when his twin entered the room. Alec looked her way, sending her a minuscule nod and a quick smile. Admittedly, it was a twitch of his lips but that was a lot for the Oblivion Twin to show. Then he faced forward again as the second group came through the doors.
"Ah, we have a guest. Isn't that wonderful?" When Aro stood and looked at them, Alec simply nodded. He was here in the role of the Oblivion Twin after all. It was expected of him to be completely expressionless. When Aro left the dais and approached the guest vampire, Alec focused on the interaction, prepared for anything. "And what brings you to Volterra my dear?"
When Renata began to vocalize her protest, he cut a quick look to silence her. One does not question the leader of the Volturi needlessly. Alec's gaze was almost immediately back on Aro and the guest. Hopefully, she was interesting. Otherwise, perhaps Aro would let him and Jane make this visit interesting, instead. None of these thoughts were visible on his face. Instead he was alert and waiting for Aro's orders.

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] If this is to end in fire we should all burn together The Volturi leaders had convened yet again to discuss the results of the guards' last mission. It seemed more of their kind were exposing themselves to mortals lately. Did they think that because the Cullens hadn't been punished for their crime, no one else would be either? Fools, they should know they were not untouchable, not to them. He heard Jane and the other guards approaching, which meant the mission was over with. He looked forward to finding out everything that happened. Before Jane could enter though, two of the guard brought another vampire before them. Aro loved visitors, he made no secret of that, but it was astonishingly rude to walk right into their domain without any notice. With the invention of telephones there was no excuse for it. Still, he had to smile as the unknown girl entered and Jane took her place to the left of his throne, on the other side from her brother Alec. "Welcome back dear one." He said briefly to Jane, clasping his hands together as he looked at the woman the two guards dragged in. "Ah, we have a guest. Isn't that wonderful?" He asked, standing and turning his head to look at Marcus and Caius as if he expected them to jump up and agree with him. They never joined in his little games. He'd always been the most enthusiastic of the three. He quickly approached the new arrival. "And what brings you to Volterra my dear?" He asked curiously. Normally people only came to visit them to ask something of them or report the crimes of other vampires, but they were usually more nervous, and they certainly didn't ask for things like 'a cold drink' when they first arrived. She seemed quite sure of herself at the moment, which meant she was either daft, or very confident in her ability to protect herself from them if things went poorly for her. He glanced back briefly when he heard a familiar noise of protest behind him. Renata was never pleased with him when he approached unknown vampires, the poor dear. If she was a bit less timid, and Chelsea hadn't tied her loyalties to him so tightly the girl might have the gall to scold him for putting himself in potential danger so often. That could actually be quite amusing. While he did not do such things to worry her, it was endearing to hear her concern. Notes and things can go here

◄ ONE GIRL AGAINST THE BIG BAG VOLTIES It was one thing to plan, mentally, how an unexpected meeting with the Volturi would go. Often the scenario would end in a grisly death, namely Saxa's but she was not one known to shy away from danger. It was the element of fun that had brought her to Volterra, the rumours of the guard circling around any vampire with a worthwhile special ability. She had heard from the lips of a rather handsy vampire in Florence that the Volturi had heard of a vampire capable of copying the powers of others - and while Saxa had chosen not to divulge the fact that, that vampire was her, she didn't want to be another dead body on the list of vampires that had refused her. So this meeting, in all of its crazy inception, was born out of her innate survival instincts. She could mind her own business, travel to Forks to meet the infamous Cullen's and hope it was a good few decades before Aro came across somebody that knew of Saxa, or she could bring the metaphorical fight to them and get it over with. Saxa had impulsively decided on the latter, wanting nothing more than to check her off of their list - yet that feeling was second only to her curiosity. The Volturi were a bedtime story told to newborn vampires to deter them from breaking the very few rules that the powerhouse of ancient vampires enforced - but to actually be face-to-face with them now was something else entirely. "Well I would have liked to arrive within my own time, but it seems that your loyalists had other ideas," Saxa nodded lazily towards the two guards that had brought her to magnificent throne room - it really was beautiful. "But I won't digress, because I assume all of us here have far more enticing things to be getting on with." Saxa spoke with her natural accent, thick English. She found little point in trying to feign an American one, because it was likely that the sensitive ears of her onlookers would see directly through it. Taking a shallow breath, more for show than actual need, Saxa stared directly at Aro - his reputation preceding him greatly. "My name is Saxa Vanguard. I am a vampire, eighty-nine years of age with a love of long walks on the beach and cute puppies," she paced slightly, one foot in front of the other, back and forth. She wasn't deliberately trying to anger any of her would-be killers, but humour was the only defence she could mount against the high-strung atmosphere. "I've heard that you have been looking for me," Saxa looked at her feet and smiled, the majority of her brunette hair falling against her cheeks, "the girl that can copy the powers of others." As Saxa spoke she raised her arms as if announcing the next artist to perform on a stage, because she knew that Aro adored a spectacle. "I thought it wise to save you the trouble of tracking me down, because I believe you would have eventually. Which brings us to now, a normal vampire with a desirable power, standing in front of far older vampires, asking for lenience - because I would very much appreciate it if you would strike me from whatever list you may have concocted of potential recruits."

To be asked to join the Volturi was something that any vampire would be lucky to have been asked, sure some thought of them as bad guys, but in fact they maintain order and without them vampires would roam unchecked. And without someone to maintain order humans might very well learn about there kind. Jane was always out in the field as she was one of head guards so when Aro was not present she had command so to speak.
Now the guest that has somehow found her way into the Manor, came across as way to full of herself at least in Jane's eyes anyhow. Sure vampires with powers were handy, but the guard was the creme of creme of vampires. Most of the guards had earned themselves a position, whereas Jane and Alec joined out of loyalty and that she wanted to become feared and respected, and she was everyone knew her name and feared her. Other than some of the Cullen's.
She smiled as she saw her twin arrive, at first she wanted to say something but instead decided to leave her post and walk around and stand beside Alec. The bond that the Twins had transcended even heaven and hell itself, when they were close the bond was as strong as it ever could be, but the longer they were part made the bond weaker and frankly Jane hated being away from Alec for long stretches " Good day brother, I hope the day finds you well," She smiled at him as she looked back to the girl she could be torturing someone right now.
if you would strike me from whatever list you may have concocted of potential recruits." She glared at her the lack of respect was criminal, "Dont worry don't think we would want someone with a lack of manners such as yourself on the guard." Jane got pissed sure, but she had got better at hiding it, well at least from anyone but her twin Alec could always sense when she was sad annoyed or pissed off. But Aro was the leader so what ever he said in respect to the girl Jane would honor it

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] If this is to end in fire we should all burn together Their guest clearly wasn't making a good impression on most of the Volturi, especially Jane and Caius. Their aggravated postures were hard to miss. Her introduction had indeed been something, and Jane wasted no time calling Saxa out for it. "Peace Jane." He said softly, glancing over at her and raising his hands in a placating motion. She was an interesting one, he'd give her that. He have found it refreshing in someone like Carlisle, but he didn't know this girl from Eve. It was quite rare that someone of her age attempted to joke with the Volturi leaders. Maybe this was just the way she really with stressful situations, some people did use humor to deal with these things, but he wasn't sure yet. It was true that he'd been searching for her for some time. Saxa's gift would undoubtedly make her a useful member of the guard, but after meeting her in person he wasn't she'd be a good fit for the coven just yet. She was still quite young after all. It was true that they had taken in young vampires before, most obviously Jane and Alec who he had turned himself, but...Not to mention, other than her gift and the small introduction she'd given, he knew virtually nothing about her, and he could not find out in his usual way without risking the woman turning his own gift back on him. He did not know how her power worked, whether she was like him and needed to be touching the individual whose powers she wanted to copy, or more like the witch twins who could use them from a distance. Caution seemed wise during this particular audience. She was quite the showgirl, this copycat. "How gracious of you young one. We certainly appreciate you coming here to meet us, do we not dear ones?" He addressed the witch twins, ignoring the impatient scoff behind him from Caius. His thirst for violence did come in handy during trials and the subsequent punishments doled out, but he did wish his brother would at least pretend to be happy during situations like these. It wouldn't kill him to smile. "I'm am curious, why did you risk coming all the way to Volterra simply to inform us that you did not wish to join our little family?" Many of their kind could have told her what he was like. His status as a collector was hardly a secret. The fact that she had come here at all, no matter how brave she may be, made him think that she was a lone nomad rather than part of a coven. If she had joined a vampire family one of them surely would have tried to stop her, or at least come with her, even if they were afraid. Still, if he truly wanted her to be one of them, there were ways of making her stay, willingly or not. Coven or no she must have known that much when she set out on her journey here. Only time would tell them if her decision had been brave, foolish, or something in between. Notes and things can go here

Am I an angel or demon? Cause I'm hell and I'm heaven.
As he currently could not leave his post, he was very thankful that his twin joined him at his position. Her turned his head towards her slightly, eyes not leaving Aro and their guest. "Good day, sister. So far the day is well. Perhaps it may even become interesting." Alec kept his voice as low as possible, meant only for Jane's ears. If this did become interesting, no doubt the twins would be called on with the other guards.
At the girl's introduction, Alec merely blinked once. He was not impressed at all. Even though she was the vampire they'd been seeking, that did not give her the safety of displaying attitude to the Volturi. His eyes cut back to his sister as she made her opinion known. He definitely shared her opinion. However, Aro nixed any response, verbal or otherwise. Alec reached over to tap Jane's hand once with two fingers. More Alert. It was one of their signals when there was no verbal communication.
The fact that this woman had the gall to approach them to decline an invitation to join their coven, an opportunity and blessing that had not been afforded to her at this point, did grate slightly on his nerves. The council had not decided whether or not she was worthy of them yet.
"How gracious of you young one. We certainly appreciate you coming here to meet us, do we not dear ones?" Alec knew that was directed towards himself and Jane, so he inclined his head in a slight nod. "Of course, Master. It is a pleasure." Alec's voice was monotone, as it usually was in the presence of outsiders.
Mentally, Alec prepared himself for every possible outcome, be it peaceful or combative. Personally, he hoped for something of a more combative nature. Yes, he had earned the name Oblivion for obvious reasons. That name overshadowed his other capabilities, though. However, he would not blindly charge in against this unknown. She could copy powers but it was not known, to his at least, how this was achieved. His power was something that he was gifted with, a blessing to be used for Aro and the Volturi. It was his and his alone. He would not allow this copycat to take what was his. In his annoyance, a finger slightly twitched.
