So this was America? It wasn't all that impressive. That's the very first thought that crossed the insane English vampire Jefferson Frye's mind as he crossed into the boarder of Denali,Alaska and by extension the United States of America for the very first time in his long 146 years of immortal life. The reason he had finally made the trip across the sea was because of a rumor that he had heard from a fellow English vampire. Jefferson had heard that a few clans in the states fed on animal blood instead of human blood which seemed to give them golden eyes instead of the usual red. Jefferson wasn't sure that he would ever convert to such a diet but it was at least worth investigating and worth the trip. Once Jefferson arrived in the city of Denali he took his trademark top hat and placed it back upon his head since he often had to remove it while running. He then began to look down the street he found himself on deciding to just start walking while he searched for another of his kind.
"I wonder if the rumors are true. I also heard that there are more of my kind then there are in all of the United Kingdom."
Jefferson spoke allowed to himself as if he was speaking to someone who was walking next to him. As he walked he couldn't help but smile and chuckle as if someone in his mind had told him a joke where in reality the only company he had was the Tick Tock sound in his own mind that personified his own unique brand of insanity. This very insanity was Jefferson's only companion and had been for over a century. A constant companion that constantly kept Jefferson's past as a human in a haze like fog of memories. Who did he used to be? Those answers came to him sometimes in flashes of clarity but would soon vanish as quick as they came. The only things that he remembered as a costent were his top hat, a white rabbit doll, the insane asylum where he worked and the fact that there was supposed to be two people by his side who no longer were. The passage of time didn't help Jefferson's clarity of mind either. As Jefferson walked down the street in a haze scanning the area for red eyes the smell of a cafe's coffee filled his nose and caused him to stop. There was a smell of something else even sweeter in the air which caused Jefferson to quickly follow his nose inside where he looked around. It had to be one of his kind because nothing else could smell that beautiful.
