Words
Alice hummed as she walked beside her 'big brother' Edward, excited for the day of shopping. Feeling it was best he got away from the house and Forks altogether, and having decided (on her own consultations of course) that he needed some new clothes, along with some new accessories and such, Alice had 'encouraged' her brother to go with her to the biggest and best shopping complex in Washington. Seattle had always been a busier, more crowded-seeming place than Forks, a mainly small-town environment. Here in Seattle, there was much more hustle and bustle, people of all ages and races mingled here, and Alice knew that there were probably more than just a couple of vampires mixed in with the humans, though Alice knew they wouldn't be able to tell (if they came across any) whether they were simply passing through or if they were actually living (and hunting) here. If there were, the Cullens might need to keep an eye on Seattle. However, just at the moment she wasn't worried about that. Today was about her and Edward spending sibling time together, and their mission was to find him a new wardrobe. Looking at her brother, Alice smiled at him through her sunglasses.
"Now, isn't this better? Out in the big city and on adventure with me, rather than moping around the house? I bet we can find some really nice things for you."
Alice's words were meant in levity, to brighten the mood and attempt to lift Edward's spirits. She didn't want him feeling like he was being forced to go shopping (even if she had coerced him) and that this should be viewed as a getaway of sorts from the rain and dreary atmosphere of Forks. Here there was at least no rain, the breeze was nice, and they were going to venture into every store with a goal in mind. Or no goal, merely to see what they might discover. The real goal was to relax and enjoy this time away from home.
Entering the shopping complex, Alice gently nudged her brother, gold eyes twinkling as she took off her sunglasses, putting them away as they were unnecessary indoors.
"So, where to first? You get to pick our first stop!"
She smiled up at him, bouncing lightly on her toes in excitement, for all appearances a little pixie ready to go find treasures that were waiting to be sought out in the complex. She hoped Edward might catch onto her enthusiasm and find at least some happiness in this trip. Shopping soothes the soul, or so it was said. Maybe it would help; one could only hope.
