Iaria Marie Connor Life's a Symphony, Souls in Harmony, each Heartbeat a Song of Existence. general info
personality Iaria is a sweet, wide-eyed young girl who has a big heart and the insatiable curiosity of a child. She doesn't know much of the world but she knows that things aren't always good or right, and that the world can stop suddenly; it has taught her to be grateful for the gifts she has and the life she enjoys. She likes the colors blue, purple, and green, and though her hair is usually down, she does tie it up from time to time, and she likes shirts with flowy or floaty sleeves, and normally jeans or comfortable pants to go with. Iaria is usually rather reserved and quiet at first meeting, but her friendliness is easily sought, and while she is humble with her musical prowess with the violin (and her advancement through her lessons) she does like to play for people, particularly her classmates on Show and Tell Day, and when playing on her violin there is no denying the joy radiating from her, or the sparkle in her bright blue eyes and her enthusiastic interaction when in a discussion of music and instruments. She is extremely protective of her violin, as it is specially custom-made for her, by her Grandpapa on her Daddy's side of the family. The rosewood and cherry is inlaid on the edging with sparkling ebony strips, and has two swirled flowering Ivy vines, artfully designed and hand-carved sound holes (F holes) on either side of the stringset. Iaria treasures this instrument with her heart because it was made just for her by family. While she will let people hold it, (because sharing), she gets anxious after some time has passed if she doesn't get it back. Her Daddy works in the Forks police station, one of the officers who works with Sheriff Charlie Swan. Her Mommy is a counselor at Forks High School, and so Iaria spends a bit of time there after school, and takes music lessons from one of the school's music teachers. Because Iaria sees her parents work hard to help others and ensure their well-being, Iaria has an understanding of selflessness due to her parents' example. She tries to be patient and kind and considerate, but she is a kid, after all. Sometimes she gets frustrated, or feels like there isn't really time for her between her parents' work and other commitments. This brought about her interest in wandering around, either indoors or out, though if it's not pouring outside she can usually be found jumping in puddles, walking through the small downtown area, or even hanging around in the woods sometimes. There are times when she feels down, or alone, and in her solitude she will find a quiet spot, usually outside, maybe the park, and play her violin, working her feelings out through the melodies and harmony. Iaria doesn't like people to see her upset or sad; she will find a place to hide if she can't control her emotional reactions to things. She feels she should deal with her feelings better, not get upset about things (and sometimes they're little things) or let things people say or do get to her. It's easier said than done, especially when she feels that nobody really listens to her or cares about her opinion because she's considered a kid. But when she finds a friend, or kindred spirit in someone who shares a passion for the outdoors or violin or really, talks with her and doesn't discount her words based on the view of a 'kid', Iaria is more than happy to share and listen. She loves stories, and heights, and dressing up (because bringing stories to life is the best), and Italian food. She bears a scar on her back, usually hidden by clothing, and fading scars on her left shoulder and leg from a car accident that left her with nightmares and these 'scarring' mementos, as well as an aversion to large vehicles. BIOGRAPHY Born to Marian and Robin Connor on a rainy May night, Iaria was a small being, not any more special than any other baby, except to her parents. Her mother looked into those big round blue eyes and smile. Through infancy and her toddler stages, Iaria showed interest in the violin music her mom used to turn on while doing everyday chores or paperwork. Her Dad read her stories at bedtime, treasured tales like Robin Hood, your common fairy tales, and sometimes stories about King Arthur and his Knights. As Iaria grew older, she yearned to make music as sweet and yet also as moving as the violinists she often heard in classical music, listening to an abundance of varied classical artists, her favorite being Tchaikovsky, though she alsoeenjoyed the works of Vivaldi and others. While visiting (and being watched by) her Grandpapa Richard, Iaria would watch him as he worked on his woodworking and carpentry, and sometimes she came home with a small hand-carved treasure or two, like a small bird or even a little whistle. When she was 5, her parents decided that because Iaria seemed so interested in violin, it was only reasonable that they give her the chance to try playing. After a year of lessons, Iaria had quickly caught on to the nuances and skills of coaxing a harmony from the strings of the borrowed violin at school. She hadn't really had anyone close to, in school, to interact with, but her musical talent gave her a way to make friends, to open up. Practicing everyday and any spare moment she had, Iaria delighted in the ease of her playing, and even attended a couple of 'talent show' nights at her school. Though she was a rather bright student, Iaria progressed much faster through her music lessons and levels of achievement much faster than the rest of her classes. Perhaps it was because when she was at her lessons, the music just seemed to flow as naturally to her as water in a river. Over the next few years, Iaria sought to advance further, which was possible due to beginning lessons with a teacher at the high school, and because on her 7th birthday, Iaria's Grandpapa presented her with a violin of her very own, made specially just for her. When her Dad became more involved at the police station, Iaria was finding herself on a routine schedule: Going to school, getting a ride over to the high school, and taking her music lesson with a music teacher there until her Mom finished work in the office. Iaria currently is finishing 8th grade, as she was held back a previous year due to a rather terrifying car accident involving herself and her Mom in their car, and another driver, while returning home from an out-of-state trip. The school excused the initial 5 days of absences due to the incident, but they did not feel they could do so with the other week she was out, as she was too afraid to leave the house for fear of another accident. In the coming year, she will be looking to attend Forks High, and continue studying violin. | ooc info ☆ NAME NAMI ☆ AGE 26 ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS ALICE CULLEN ☆ TIMEZONE EST, DST in effect ☆ HOW DID YOU FIND US?
