She held me spellbound in the night Pain comes in many forms and may designs. For one particular Cullen family member, the pain that they were experiencing was one that was hard to describe or to cure. It had been a long time since Edward had allowed himself to open up and love someone other than his own family. For over a century Edward had been careful. Then he had not been. In a way, the vampire should have trusted Rosalie about Bella not being the right fit for him. He had been impulsive and stupid. Now he and the rest of his family would pay for it. Of course, that was the reality in anything dealing with the Volturi. He could join them, wonder if that would appease them in their war. Perhaps he could simply to back to them and tell them that Bella was now a liability. To watch them destroy the shifters and everyone else around him, perhaps even himself. Death was looking like the best outcome even with himself surrounded by his family, and they were calling all their friends in for support. What Edward could not understand was why they were standing with him and not against him. He half expected them to give him up to the Volturi and save themselves. It is what most people did. Then again, he forgot at times what family truly meant to the Cullens. The one family member he was most concerned with at the moment was Jasper. He knew that elder vampire could feel his emotions, but Edward was not able to stop his feelings. He was trying, hiding away his feelings from Jasper and his actions from Alice. Neither needed to be bogged down with his own self-loathing. Isolation was not the answer, but it was all Edward could think about at the moment. He had spent too many hours playing sad songs on the piano, and he was quite sure if he played one more Emmett might smash the thing to bits. As a way to avoid his precious object from getting destroyed, Edward took himself outside to brood. It was at least a start. Having not stepped outside his room or the house in several weeks, Edward was quite sure that he looked like death warmed over. The Cullen Land was safe, or it should be, for now. Not that he would hunt here. Food, while on his mind as he looked starving, was not scarce he just could not bring himself to go hunting. Edward did not know what starvation would do to him, outside of making him more willing to take human blood. He was not going to venture too far. The glass door in his room was open, should a family member walk by and wonder where he was. Edward could be seen just sitting on the ground at the edge of the woods. He was still within the boundary of the Cullen Lands and would not be in danger, yet. But his eyes were closed, and he was as still as a statue. It was not easy to distract him, on a typical day, but given the events, Edward was easily distracted and would not see someone coming upon him. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

AND YOU THOUGHT THE LIONS WERE BAD
Well they tried to kill my brothers. | E mmett had been lucky; from the moment that he had been rescued from the bear and had opened his newborn crimson eyes he had known that Rosalie had been an angel sent for him, and that he loved her. There had never been a moment of doubt or second thoughts. It was exactly like they had been made for each other out of the same fragment of the earth during the big bang. For others of course, they hadn’t been so lucky. Some had to roam the earth doomed as a vampire without their soul mate, wandering around hoping to find someone to bond with and spend eternity with. Most of the Cullen’s had too, been lucky. Carlisle had found Esme and fell in love with her after saving her life and Alice and Jasper saved each other from desolate lives wandering with no purpose or hope. Then there was Edward. Emmett wanted nothing more than for his brother to find someone to love like he did, Rose. And for awhile, it looked like he had.
Automatically, Emmett had accepted Bella into the coven; despite the fact that she was human and they were not. Others, specifically Rose, had worried what would happen if things ended badly – which Emmett secretly wondered if that stemmed from events that Emmett had caused himself when he had come across a human whose blood sung to him and he had had a laps in restraint. But Emmett being Emmett decided to be positive and be extremely happy that his brother had found his mate. Honestly the family had wondered if there was something wrong with him. Sure, there was a little bit of tension when a triad of nomads took it upon themselves to hunt Bella for fun, but to this burley vampire; it was just as much fun stopping them… well at least killing one of them anyway. Plus… it was kind of fun having a human around, with their strange eating habits and odd behaviours.
Forks was one of the only places in the continental united states that Emmett actually genuinely liked to live. With the near constant cover of cloud, it meant that they rarely had to hide away... plus, they were within close distance to a mountain range which had a consistent supply of brown bears for Emmett to feed on. Packing up and moving on was never a fun thing to do, but of course before long it became necessary in order to avoid humans becoming suspicious about their lack of aging. However, Emmett hadn’t been ready to move on – not yet anyway. But after the party fiasco, which almost resulted in Bella being vampire chow, Edward had insisted. Usually the brawny vampire was carefree and happy to go with the flow, but this time he had made it clear that he thought leaving wasn’t a good idea. Sure, it hadn’t been the best party, but on the bright side, they’d manage to restrain Jasper and resist Bella’s blood and she was still alive. There was no need to leave.
But alas, they made the short journey to Denali, staying with Tanya and her coven until they made plans where to go next. Minus Edward, who had wanted to be alone; Emmett had tailed him for awhile, but eventually gave up and went back to Rosalie. Emmett couldn’t understand how his brother would have been feeling; the very thought of not being with Rose made him feel weak. Thing stayed calm, Emmett had whisked Rose away to Africa on safari for a couple of weeks, giving the coven time to recoup. That was until Alice had that vision and darted off to comfort Chief Swan, thinking that Bella had succumbed to her clumsy nature and had died. Edward had been checking in with the coven every few weeks… and of course, the vision had gotten back to him… thanks to Emmett’s beautiful yet tactless wife.
And all hell broke loose. Again. Emmett rarely worried; he was a firm believer that he could fix anything with his strength. But not knowing what was happening to his family in Italy without him being there to protect them didn’t sit well with him. Rosalie had had to stop him from flying over there after them; if anyone could make Emmett do – or not do something – it was Rosalie. There hadn’t been a doubt in Emmett’s mind that if they managed to save Edward that he and Bella would have been reunited and they’d be able to move back to Forks and continue as if nothing happened. That the past few months would just be a story that Emmett would make jokes about for the rest of eternity. But of course, that hadn’t happened. The dog had made sure of that.
Now the Volturi were alerted to the fact that a human knew of their world, the Cullen’s had a target of their back. That excited Emmett though; any excuse to fight and bring the royal family down a peg or two. But Bella on the other hand was another kettle and fish. She knew too much about them, specifically the Cullen’s. She could realistically cause a lot of trouble for them and more heartache for the more sensitive members of the Cullen’s – like momma vamp, Esme. Emmett was saddened by the fact that Bella was no long one of the family, because he did like her; she amused him. But he was more saddened by the fact that his brother was once again a recluse.
Since returning from Italy, Edward had kept to himself and Emmett had hardly seen or spoke to him. He kept a close eye on him though, just in case he decided to go back to Italy and get the job done properly. Emmett was tinkering around with him jeep when he caught the scent of his brother. Dropping his tools onto the work bench and wiping the oil from his hands onto a rag, he tugged off his overalls – which Esme would castrate him for if he wore them into the house – and made his way into the main room. His vampire vision caught movement in the distance out through the open door at the end of the clearing. Without missing a beat, he broke into a casual jog and closed the distance between him and Edward. ”Hey Bro,” he called as he got closer. ”Fancy going on a hunt? I’m in the mood to fight me a bear.”

She held me spellbound in the night Edward was lost in his thoughts. That much was evident to anyone that ventured around him. There was no denying that there was much to think about given the current situation. He had trusted his heart and not his head and allowed it to create chaos. Without much thought, Edward had thrown his family into a frenzy when he announced that he was coming home with a human. In hindsight, he probably should have given into his first instinct and run as far away as possible. Maybe Denali was far enough away to avoid the impulse and urges that Bella wrought in him. He would never know now. It was the fact that his family might be disappointed in him that kept Edward from running away even now. That, and the threat of the Volturi if word got out that Bella left them. There had always been a dark part hidden inside Edward. The part that wanted him to drain Bella dry and leave her body for Charlie to find. The part that did not care about a war with the wolves. It was this dangerous part he fought day in and day out without anyone knowing. He hid his desires and his pain well, or he thought he had. Darkness was calling to him even now, the urge to rage and destroy. It was cutting through him like a knife. Slicing at his willpower and making him question everything. At first, it had made him sit in his room and do nothing, then he had lamented with the piano. Now he was standing outside in the trees just watching. Edward had no idea what he was waiting on or what he was expecting. He just knew that he needed some fresh air and hoped that it would clear some things up. Scents surrounded him, memories flooded his mind, and he thought for a moment about home. Not here with the Cullen clan but home, Chicago, and his childhood. He still remembered walking the streets with his mother and father, learning what he needed to know from his father. Then the influenza outbreak had happened. He watched those he cared about die around him and had been ready to give up. That was when Edward turned into this abomination by Carlisle. There was a part of Edward that wanted to hate the older man. He understood that Carlisle had been lonely and that the man had made a promise to Edward's parents. It didn't make it easier at the moment. If he had died back in Chicago at the turn of the century, he would have never been in this pain now. Hearing the sound of his brother's voice, Edward turned his dark eyes towards Emmett. Out of all of his siblings, it was Emmett he had not expected to come out here. Alice, yes, Jasper, probably but not Emmett. He was the brother that could get Edward to do anything, and for a moment it shocked him that the man would come out here. In vampire age, Edward was the older of the two, Jasper being the oldest of the brothers, Emmett had been older when he was human before turning. It was that knowledge that sent Edward asking for advice at times. "Hunting sounds nice."MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

AND YOU THOUGHT THE LIONS WERE BAD
Well they tried to kill my brothers. | E mmett had been fascinated with Edward and his relationship with Bella Swan from the beginning. The fact that she was human was enough entertainment for starters. He, himself had come across a few humans whose blood had sung to him and he had been unable to resist temptation. He had had a laps in control and had given in to his vampire instincts. But his brother not only was able to restrain himself from sinking his teeth into Bella’s neck on several occasions, but had also been able to stand being in close proximity to her for long periods of time. It was something that this vampire just couldn’t wrap his head around or really understand, no matter how much he tried.
But that was all in the past now. Bella had made her choice and Edward had to live with it, as did the Cullen’s. While they weren’t really affected by the break up, they were going to be affected by the consequences. Not that Emmett minded; he’d been looking for an excuse to knock the Volturi down a peg or too and maybe this would give him the chance.
After their departure from Forks, Emmett and Rosalie had taken some time away from the family. They had taken a trip to Africa on Safari; both to see and feed on exotic animals – as long as they weren’t protected obviously. As a result, Emmett hadn’t really spent much time with Edward and since he’d returned from Italy, he’d kept to himself a lot; which Emmett of course expected. He had spent a lot of time himself comforting Rosalie; who still felt horrible about the mix up in the first place. Emmett tended to laugh it off; what was done was done, nothing could be changed now, so in his opinion what was the point of brooding over it? But nevertheless, he knew that his wife was effected by it and he’d be damned if he didn’t at least try to ease her guilt. One way Emmett thought may help the situation was talking to Edward about it all. He wasn’t sure whether his wife and brother had actually spoken about it since it happened, but he knew once they did, it would soon blow over.
Emmett himself hadn’t spoken to his brother about it actually, he didn’t really know how he was doing. So a hunting trip seemed like the perfect plan. ”Alright, bro. Get your gameface on. We’re gonna go catch ourselves some bears and lions.” Emmett chuckled loudly before sprinting off into the forest towards the mounting that was known to be home to bears and lions. He let his vampire sense take over, picking up scents as he tore through the forest, never hitting a branch thanks to his perfect vampire vision and agility. It wasn’t long until he came across the scent of a mountain lion. Without slowing down, knowing Edward would hear him, he called out over his shoulder; ”First one to find it, gets dibs.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] WAKE ME UP I'M LIVING A NIGHTMARE I WILL NOT DIE [attr="class","itokaytext"]There was one thing that Edward knew he could count on, his two brothers distracting him from his troubles. If it was not Jasper using his gifts, it was Emmett finding some way to distract Edward. The bronze haired vampire had managed to pull himself from his room and was standing outside in the woods. For once Edward wished he could silence not only his thoughts but the thoughts of others. He wanted not to be able to hear his family even from this far away. The vampire was not going to ask any of them to get lost. It would be nicer for him just to run and see how far he could get before the silence showed up. Silence would be a blessing at this exact moment.
Hunting had not been on the agenda, but given that Edward had not fed in a while, he did not doubt that a hunt would be good for him. Going too long without feeding made him cranky and the last thing anyone wanted to deal with was a cranky Edward Cullen. So when his brother decided they would go hunting, hunting is what they would do. Emmett was the one member of the family Edward felt would give him the least amount of lectures on their trip. What he had not expected was that his brother would just take off into the forest and leave him standing there.
For a moment, Edward just stood still as a statue. Closing his eyes, he allowed his baser instincts to take over. Many vampires were not aware just how fast Edward actually could be. His family knew, and Bella was aware, but others did not know that Edward could be the first one on the scene should the desire strike him. He asked himself one time what made him move so fast, but he could never come up with a solution. Trying not to dwell on that much longer Edward took off into the woods as well. He would beat Emmett to the mountain lion, of that he was sure. Besides, the mountain lion was his favorite, he would leave the bears to his bear of a brother.
When he was running and allowing himself to be his baser creature, Edward felt different. He was a predator by design, but he worked hard not to be the monster he saw himself to be. If anything happened to his family, he would never be able to fight back the demon he thought he was. That much, Edward was more than sure on. It was why he felt that taking the time to hunt, especially with Emmett was worth it. Getting food into his body was step number one, then reacting to anything else was secondary. The speed with which he was seeking out the target was one that should have made his brother pause. There was a new edge to Edward's speed that was new, and it was bothering the vampire only for a moment.
Before he could respond to his brother's taunting, Edward located and took down the mountain lion. Now of all times, he wished he was a clean eater. Being messy was a problem especially if he came home covered in blood and looking like he was up to something. One mountain lion would not be enough at the moment to satiate the hunger within Edward, but it was to take the edge off, just barely. Turning his eyes towards his brother, Edward looked at Emmett and waited to see any censure within his eyes.
