Alice Mary Cullen I've loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more. general info
personality Alice is bright, cheerful, and exuberant. She retains her upbeat attitude despite the things she has seen, and is like any other teenage girl when it comes to shopping. If she sets her mind to throwing a party, she is not easily discouraged. She enjoys using others as living mannequins to test out fashion styles she thinks suits them well. She is very strongly bonded to her family, and while she may seem cheerful and carefree, she takes threats to those she cares about very seriously. Alice keeps an eye out for anything in the future (especially those whose decisions may impact the coven) that might bring harm to her family. She loves her mate Jasper with all of her heart, and is never far from him. He is her whole world, and she wants to keep him reassured that he never has to worry about his past again. If anyone even thinks to threaten Jasper, Alice will have something to say about it; and that is also true of family and friends of the family. Alice will do what she can in her part to protect and watch out for the Cullens. And though most people only see the cheerful bright side of Alice, there is much more to her than just the sunshine. She carries worries, fears, and pain, like everyone else. She simply chooses to turn them into something positive, to not let them hold her back. And if anyone threatens her Love, her family or friends...she can get deadly serious. Just a fair warning. -wink- When it comes to planning things, Alice is the first one to jump in, and adamant when people question her decisions, usually asking if anyone there has any vision at all. Alice will listen to given advice, but usually takes her own route to things, usually coming up with something better than anyone expected. She likes to sing along to songs, and loves taking pictures of her family, especially couples pictures and her little niece. Alice looks at the bright side of things, remaining optimistic when others would regard a situation with dread, probably due to her ability. She gets frustrated, however, when people use her blind spots in her talent against her, and exasperated because she doesn't like not knowing what is going on, and who is the cause of it. Her hobbies include dabbling in fashion/interior design ideas, convincing people (like Bella) that fashion is not something to be afraid of, and playing the stock market. Her outfits are stylish, and suited to her personality. They are usually casual-dress, and skirts are occasionally worn, along with fashionably matched shoes and accessories. She always wears the Cullen Crest, normally on a ribbon around her neck in a choker-style necklace. Alice is also very graceful, almost floating when she walks, coordinated and calm, the poise of a dancer. As she is short and petite, she is often underestimated by other vampires, presumed to be non-threatening. But looks are often deceiving, and Alice is no exception. Her agile movements and small stature allow her to fight with maneuvers similar to martial arts. Her usual stance, however, is non-combative, composed and stable. BIOGRAPHY Alice was born in 1901 to the Brandon family in Biloxi, Mass. Even as a child, her precognitive skills were developing, starting as premonitions rather than visions. During her childhood years, it was looked on as an adorable child phase. As she grew older, however the skills changed, and the visions began. Alice was troubled by the things she saw, and related the scenes to her parents. They cautioned her to be quiet, not to speak about this unknown development. In her teens, Alice became accustomed to disregarding the visions she saw. There were a couple times, however, that she felt she had to warn those involved in the images. Both instances, one in which included a cousin, resulted in the visions coming true because of their ignorance of her concern. Whispers and rumors began to circulate in the town about the Brandon girl, and the possibilities of her being a witch. Her father dismissed the rumors, and reprimanded Alice. Alice's admittance to the mental institution was precluded by a disaster with her mother and father. Alice had encountered a vision in which she saw her mother being killed by a stranger. As her father was out on a business trip, Alice confided her fears to her mother, who heeded Alice and remained at home with her two daughters until their father returned. He was infuriated at coming home to find an unkept house and three frightened women, with the cause being Alice and her visions. He sent the family about their usual business, and in the coming months, Alice's mother met the tragic fate Alice had foreseen. Her father remarried, and the new wife, while she fawned over Alice's sister, was rather horrid to Alice, which made her suspicious of the stepmother. She suspected that the abrupt marriage may have had something to do with her mother's death. She told her father her suspicions, and he scolded her harshly for disrespecting his new wife. Shortly after, Alice saw another vision, one in which she saw her father handing the same stranger money..to kill her! In desperation, she tried to get to the Town Marshal's house; Her father got there first, and convinced the Marshal that his daughter had gone mad, and that he would admit her quietly into an asylum, putting the matter to rest. During her stay in the institution, Alice endured treatments, among them electro-shock therapy. While it did nothing for her visions, the therapy essentially reset her memory, giving her a previously lost spunky and cheerful attitude. She no longer had to carry the depressing memories from her human past. A vampire, unknown to her at the time, took a liking to Alice and befriended her, protecting her from the more dangerous and harmful practices of the asylum on its patients. In order to protect her from the tracker vampire James, (who Alice saw coming for her in visions) he bit her to start the process of her transformation into a vampire, and left to distract James. The resulting trauma of the transformation (similarly affecting her like the shock therapy) again erased her memories, and she didn't remember anything upon waking up. [Note!: Alice still retains memories, and she can form memories just fine, it's just her human memories and the time that she spent in the asylum that were erased by the trauma of going through the extreme pain and stress of electroshock therapy and the transformation from human into a vampire.] While traveling on her own after becoming a vampire, she saw a vision of Jasper Whitlock, her first clear vision after her transformation. Knowing that he was not ready to be found yet, she nevertheless began practicing a 'vegetarian' lifestyle, in anticipation of the future she had seen with the Cullen family. She met Jasper in 1948 at the location she saw in her visions, and told him she had been waiting a long time for him to arrive. They began traveling together, Alice deeply in love with Jasper, and glad that she had finally gotten her soul mate. They traveled for two years, and then journeyed to find the Cullens. Alice had a mastery of her thirst as close to the Cullens' own control, and she and Jasper were married shortly after joining the family. When Edward met Bella, and decided that he was going to be with her, Alice was overjoyed at the prospect of having a new sister, and one to coax into fashion. However, she found Bella was just as adamant about not getting dressed up as Alice was about dressing her. Throughout her time spent with Bella over the years, Alice found a great friendship in Bella and enjoyed talking with her. When the Cullens rescued Bella from James, Alice had foreseen Bella's transformation, but Edward would not allow it. He changed the future by removing the venom from Bella's body. In New Moon, Alice and the rest of the Cullens were asked by Edward to all leave Forks. Alice felt bad for leaving Bella alone, but respected her brother's wishes, not even answering emails from Bella. She remained out of contact until she had a vision of Bella jumping off of the sea-side cliffs and drowning. As Jacob was the one who saved Bella from the water, Alice didn't see the rescue. After miscommunication by Rosalie and Jacob, Alice was horrified to see that Edward was going to the Volturi to die, in the belief that Bella was dead. Alice and Bella raced to Italy, and arrived in time to prevent Edward from exposing himself. Alice intervened when Aro was determining to kill Bella, as he was under the assumption that she was a liability to the vampire secret; By showing Aro her vision of Bella as a newborn, transformed. Aro allowed them to leave, and Alice was glad to leave with both Bella and Edward safe and in one piece. Now, she's keeping an eye (or both) to the future as the rest of her family has returned to Forks. With graduation coming, Alice hopes to plan a party, one that won't result in the guest of honor almost being attacked. Her main concern, one that haunts her and she keeps hidden, is what she sensed when she interacted with Aro in Volterra. She isn't sure quite what to make of the sense she got from him, but it isn't something she will overlook, nor is it something she will voice until she is certain. | ooc info ☆ NAME Nami ☆ AGE 26 ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS N/A ☆ TIMEZONE EST (Daylight Savings currently) ☆ HOW DID YOU FIND US?
