She held me spellbound in the night When Edward brought Isabella Swan into the family he had thought it would be for the better. He found someone that he thought he loved, someone that would add a benefit to the household. What drew him to the brunette was the fact that he could hear Bella's thoughts. So far, he had not come across anyone that he could not read. Perhaps it was not loved at all but the curiosity that she brought to him, that attracted him to Bella. Edward wanted to know. Alice had seen someone in his future, Bella, no doubt and had not seen her actions after returning from Italy. That was the one problem Edward had about Alice's gift. It was subjective. He wished it was not, that she could see all aspects of the events. Edward wanted to know that everything would be alright. The vampire understood that it would not be. The Volturi expected that Bella would become a vampire and if she did not, they would kill the Cullen family. Bella knew this and so much more and yet she had run to the wolves. Did she think they were strong enough to fight off the vampires on their own? Sure Victoria was one thing, but this was an army far beyond the abilities of Victoria. Even now, the thought of it all terrified Edward. He had lost so much already; he would not survive losing more. Emmett had managed to coax him out to hunt a few days before, and now Edward was just wandering the woods. The vampire knew the boundary lines. He would not cross them. Not right now at least. Closing his eyes a moment, Edward stood completely still. The statue that he could become as he tried to force all thoughts and memories out of his head. True, he was a bit homesick and wishing he could return to Chicago. It was impossible. At least right now. He needed to be present in the here and now. When he opened his eyes, Edward moved and started gathering the flowers that he could find. They were wild, but they would serve to send a message. Hearing the thoughts of the approaching vampire, Edward sighed gently before speaking. "Why don't you help me find ones that Esme would like Rose?" Rosalie would be the right person to help with this task. At least for now, until he could get Alice involved. No, this would do just fine for now. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

When you're dreaming with a broken heart, the hardest part is giving up...
When Edward had found Bella, Rosalie couldn't help the jealousy that came as a result of it. She had long given up on being with Edward and had found her one true match in Emmett. But, before the human had entered their lives, Rosalie was able to just believe that the reason Edward had never felt anything for her wasn't because she wasn't beautiful enough or interesting enough for him. She blamed it on simply him never being completely open to finding that one person that he could be with forever. So when he found that with Bella, she was already upset with her assessment of the situation. But then when she added in the fact that Edward fell for a human, she just couldn't believe that. She couldn't believe the grave danger that he was willing to put their family in - all for some girl that inevitably left him for a wolf. She knew that Edward was hurting; she had been through rejection before. The extent of his pain was something that he was better at hiding. All she wanted was to console her brother, but she didn't know where to begin or if her attempts would be appreciated. After all, she had been the one to tell him of Bella jumping off of the cliff. She was the one who left him feeling as if going to the Volturi was his only choice. She was the one who had inadvertently caused more heartbreak than she could have ever anticipated. She wanted to make it right, but she didn't know where or how to start.
The blonde had heard Edward leave and decided to follow at a distance. She watched as he walked, keeping her mind clear of any thoughts so that she wouldn't be given away by his gift. Her gaze followed him as he walked, stopped and stood still for a few moments. As she watched him bend down to start picking flowers, she couldn't help but let the thought of why he was picking flowers come to her head. As soon as she thought it, she knew that he had heard her and his request for her help only solidified that. She sighed softly before walking over to Edward, crouching down beside him to look at the flowers he had already picked up. "Well, you know Esme," she said softly before reaching towards some of the wildflowers with more vibrant colors. "She always enjoys an array of colors. It makes the house less boring." She passed him the flowers with a kind smile before letting her head hang as she looked for more flowers that she thought their 'mother' would enjoy.
"how are you doing, Edward?" She looked to her brother, passing a couple of more flowers that she had picked before sighing gently. "I know that you're hurting; we can all see that. But what's the extent of it?" She turned her head from him to look back at the flowers, pursing her lips as she thought of what Esme would enjoy, knowing that they had had a conversation about flowers at some point in their lifetimes due to Rosalie's nickname. She moved from her crouching position to stand, stretching her arms outwards as she looked at the scenery of the forest. She knew that Edward should talk about whatever was going on in his mind. The last time he hadn't, he had risked his life instead of talking it out. Her gaze landed back on the man and she sighed before shaking her head. "You know my opinion about her, Edward. I just don't understand how you didn't see it. She wasn't a good fit - wasn't the right fit. I only wish that you had been able to see it sooner." She bent back down, going back to the flowers as she began her search again for the exact ones that their mother would enjoy.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] WAKE ME UP I'M LIVING A NIGHTMARE
I WILL NOT DIE [attr="class","itokaytext"]Out of everyone in the family, Edward knew that it would be Rosalie that would tell him straight. Esme might not be as honest out of fear of hurting him, Alice, though she could see the future would probably apologize for not seeing this part coming. That was the problem with powers like what Alice possessed; they were so subjective. He knew that his sister would not have been able to see Bella's plans until it was far too late to stop them. More than that, since it involved the shifters and Alice couldn't see them, it would make it even harder to predict.
What Edward needed was someone that would be honest with him and share exactly how they felt. He did not want sugar coating of feelings or actions. It was why Edward was happy that it was Rose out here and not the rest. She would not hide her thoughts from him, even if he wanted her too. She was honest to a fault, about what she thought was best for the family. They might be an untraditional family by most people's standards, but Edward knew they were closer than most traditional families, in more than one way.
The elder vampire remembered when Rose became a vampire, it was in a way to save her, but Carlisle had hoped that Rosalie would end up as the mate to Edward, a way to end his loneliness but she became nothing more than a sister to him. It made him wonder if he had ever actually told her why they would not have worked, why she was better off with Emmett than with himself. At the time there had been two reasons, but the only one that the vampire had made known was that he was not interested in her that way. That was only part of the truth.
"I understand, and I should have listened to you. I wish I could use the excuse that I was young and stupid, but you both know that would be a lie worse than others I have told. Do you want the truth?" He asked with his voice soft as he took the suggestions offered by Rose and moved around to collect more flowers. He would bring Esme back a bouquet and maybe she would quit looking so sad about his depressed state. Edward's pause in talking was only momentary as he allowed Rose a chance to think about his question.
"I did not want to see it. Everyone in this family has someone, Carlisle, and Esme, You and Emmett, Alice and Jasper. Then there's me. I'm the black sheep, I always have been. I guess my power would make it easy to be that way and while there are people that have entertained the feelings have not been reciprocal. Do you know why I never wanted to be with you in that way Rose? It has nothing to do with you. I never told you, but it was that you needed someone better. You did not deserve to be stuck with someone like me. You are such a beautiful soul; you needed someone else. Emmett. He's who you needed. I had hoped that Bella would be that for me. I wanted it so badly because I am tired of being alone but look at where that went."
In truth, Edward did not expect Rosalie to understand. He doubted anyone in the family would. Maybe Jasper but that was only due to his gift. He did not want to burden them further with his pain and his heartache. If it would have been easy to kill himself, Edward was sure he would do it again. That would require him to go before the Volturi and admit he failed. He would not do that. Doing so would mean sacrificing his family as well.

When you're dreaming with a broken heart, the hardest part is giving up...
when Rosalie chose to go and follow Edward into the woods, she hadn't intended on voicing her opinions about Bella. She hadn't planned much of anything, if she was being honest with herself. All she knew was that her brother was hurting, and it seemed as if there was nothing anyone in their family could do about it. And as much as she wanted to be able to help Edward, there was no clear path or clear directive in how to do that. He could read her mind, sure, and see that that she was thinking it. But it wasn't the same as her being able to see everything clearly for herself. She wanted him to know that he wasn't alone and that, as long as he had his family, he never would be.
the quizzical arch in her brow was unstoppable as Edward asked her if she wanted to know the truth. She thought about what he could mean, but then realized that she didn't really need to answer. He would tell her the second he heard her thoughts of intrigue. But nothing could have prepared her for what he confessed next. She deserved someone better? Those were words that Rose had literally never heard before. Sure, she had never really thought of Edward in that way either, but she was always a little bitter that he hadn't wanted to be with her. She had known her beauty, even then, and was astounded and hurt by the fact that someone didn't find her worthy of being their partner. But to learn now that a part of his choice to not be with her was because he felt as if she deserved better? That broke the blonde's heart that her brother could think so lowly of himself.
her hand instinctively went to rest on his shoulder, her head hanging low as she shook her head in disagreement. "No, Edward," she said before looking up at him and allowing their golden eyes to lock. "That is not true in any way, shape, or form." She laughed humorlessly, shaking her head as she looked forward before turning herself back to him. "Me deserving better is a ridiculous statement. I am unbelievably in love with Emmett, yes, and therefore grateful that we didn't work together. But Emmett is not better than you. He might be better suited for me than you, but he is by no means better than you. You're both completely different people with different personalities. That doesn't make either one of you better than the other."
Rosalie watched her brother before letting her hand fall from his shoulder as she looked forwards. "You'll find that love one day, Edward. You'll find the love that we all have and that you thought you had with her. I know you will. And while it might seem like losing her could be the end of the world, we have to choose to believe that it's not." She looked over at him and gave him a soft smile. "There's going to be a lot of change with her absence. Change that I wish didn't have to come but will happily embrace if it means protecting my family." She looked down before shaking her head as she let out a sigh. "But, Edward, please believe me when I tell you that you are so deserving of love. She just wasn't the right one for you. You never know who you're going to find in our various lifetimes. You found her, but it just wasn't right. It doesn't mean that you don't deserve love or that you'll never find someone. It just means she wasn't the one you were meant to find."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] WAKE ME UP I'M LIVING A NIGHTMARE I WILL NOT DIE [attr="class","itokaytext"]Edward always felt like he was wrong for asking for advice. Usually, he would turn to Carlisle or even Esme for such opinions. However, given whatever it was he needed the information on, Alice and Rosalie could provide him valuable advice. He just had to man up and ask them. Right now Rose was the one he trusted to guide him. He knew that she had her views and doubted that she would hold back anything. Unlike with some people, Rose's thoughts often matched what she said as well. That honesty was needed to help him. True, Edward was wallowing in his grief right now, and he needed to snap out of it. That much he knew, but he struggled to see how.
"I knew she was dangerous. Her father is Chief Swan and her families relationship with individual families in La Push. That alone should have been enough to keep me away. Her blood calls to me, even now. I am loathed to resist it. I couldn't just abandon you all and leave for Denali as I wanted. Running away from the problem does not make it easier. Now I've endangered us all. She knows too much and knows the plans of the Volturi. Unless Bella can convince the shifters to be on our side we don't stand a chance, do we? Every single one of us is dead. We have all lost too much already; we cannot lose more." Edward's tone was distant. As if he was mentally seeing what would happen in the future. For once he was thankful, that was Alice's power and not his own. Edward struggled enough with telepathy.
Moving from picking flowers to sitting in the open of the clearing, Edward looked up at the sky. The vampire should not be around to see the sky. He should have been dead long ago, but fate had other options. Now he was alive, and a creature he had been raised to believe was demonic to its core. Perhaps he needed to reevaluate the teachings he had grown up learning. This location was not the place to dwell on things. Edward kept his gaze up on the sky and thought about everything they had been through as a family. Nomads. Victoria. So far they had come out alive. Did they have a chance to continue that?
"We have some allies if you think we could get our friends from Denali to come and join us. Didn't Carlisle say he was sending word? One of us could make the trip? I would volunteer, but I am afraid if I left it would send the wrong message." What Edward was saying without saying was that he wondered if they needed to have a family meeting. Was their home a place safe enough to plan and plot and discover? Did Alice and Jasper have friends from before they joined that could help? There were so many variables to plan and plot that Edward was almost sure they would not have enough time before bad things happened. The vampire wanted only good things, but since vampires didn't sleep, he had no dreams to make things better. All he had was the cold, harsh reality of the world he lived. Did he even live, or was it more just existing?
Moving his gaze from the sky to the tree line, Edward was always aware. His gift allowed him to see if there was danger, but he was actively trying not to use it. He did not want to invade Rose's thoughts, nor did he care what she was thinking. He just needed the noise of a person talking to distract him. When you're dreaming with a broken heart, the hardest part is giving up... Rosalie listened to Edward's explanation and she could almost feel the heartbreak that she knew he would inevitably be feeling. She knew that he would blame himself for the Volturi's expected arrival and the fight that would undoubtedly end horribly for one side or the other. While on one hand she wanted to console him and tell him that it wasn't his fault, she couldn't bring herself to talk him out of it. He knew what the consequences would be if Bella hadn't gone through the transformation process. Sure, he had never expected that she would leave him for someone else, but she had been a risk.
the blonde listened to him as he started talking of the impending war that would come upon them and she nodded before looking out into the forest. "Yes, Carlisle plans on telling the Denali clan about everything that has happened." She looked to Edward and gave him a tight smile. "Don't worry about leaving right now, Edward. I would be more than happy to go if Carlisle asks me to. Right now, just focus on keeping your head down and trying to do as much damage control as possible. After all, the better we contain it for ourselves, the less leverage the Volturi will have once they arrive."
She placed a hand on his shoulder lightly, giving him a reassuring smile as she lowered her hand back to her side. "I promise, it will get easier. It takes time, but eventually the pain will become nothing more than a dull ache until it ceases to exist at all." She sighed and then looked down at her feet. "Just remember that we're all here and we want to help, Edward. We really do. We just need you to let us help in any way that we can. You're not burdening us." She chuckled before shrugging as she looked out at the forest again. "We're family, through thick and thin. You can rely on us to be here for you whenever you need us to be. Don't forget that."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] WAKE ME UP I'M LIVING A NIGHTMARE I WILL NOT DIE [attr="class","itokaytext"]There was a side of Rose that few outside of the family got to see. She could be sweet but only when the time was right. Edward knew that there was a reason that Rosalie acted the way she did and he would never begrudge her of that. Honesty would be the thing that saved them all. Well, the thing he told himself would be the thing. As a vampire, there were certain absolutes that one learned when they changed. Being nearly indestructible was one of them, but then so was the fact that they were dangerous to everyone, even themselves.
At the age of seventeen, Edward had not expected to die and become a vampire. He had known that he would more than likely die of influenza that was rampaging through Chicago at the time. Of course, Edward had also been delirious with fever and probably would not have stopped Carlisle if he could. Not that Edward thought he could halt the man that would become a better father than he had as a human. There were aspects of his life now that he adored. Having a loving family was one of them. He'd never had sisters or brothers before, and his mother and father were distant. Though Edward does know that his mother had requested Carlisle to save Edward, he did not agree with it. At least, not without being given a chance to understand the gravity of the situation.
Smiling gently and genuinely at Rose, Edward nodded his head before speaking. If he left, things would be bad, she, however, was under no obligation to stay in Forks and if Rose and Emmett or even just Rose chose to travel to Denali, there would be fewer questions. His sister was also right in that they needed to try to keep their head down as much as possible. Causing trouble and drawing attention would not be useful to anyone, especially the people of Forks. Edward wanted not to lose his family, but he also did not want to cause the undo deaths of many humans. That was the biggest worry he had. Humans could not defend themselves against vampires. They would die bloody and painful deaths.
"It's not just us I'm worried about right now. It's the people. Forks in general and the humans in La Push will be the fodder. Their deaths will be on us if we cannot stop this. That is what I worry about." Edward let the feelings show on his face and in his eyes as he stopped what he was doing. Maybe this was the heart of the matter, the actual reason he felt as horrible as he did. Innocent human deaths were not acceptable, and he had no doubt the Volturi would blame them even when they slaughtered the mortals. He wanted to stop this, but in all honesty, Edward had no idea where to even begin. [newclass=.itokaytext]font-size:12px;width:430px;padding:15px;background-color:white;color:gray;text-align:justify;font-family:Playfair Display;[/newclass][newclass=.itokaytext b]color:#3d7a7a;[/newclass][newclass=.itokaytext i]color: #21ccbb;[/newclass]
