OH NO, NOT HIGH SCHOOL AGAIN!
Saxa had regretted the decision for the seventh time, and it wasn't even ten o'clock yet. Why she had decided to repeat high school for the umpteenth time was beyond her, but each time doubt decided to rear its ugly head, Saxa reminded herself that she was here for Edward - or more specifically, the Cullens.
She had been curious about the vegetarian vampires after hearing of their confrontation with the Volturi - and as someone that Aro was beginning to grow interested with, Saxa wasn't going to pass on the possibility of allies. It was quite possible that she could avoid the Volturi for at least three or four decades, but one day, she knew that they would track her down - all it would take is Aro using his power to dive into the mind of somebody she had men, and when one lived for almost ninety years, acquaintances were inevitable.
The first lesson of the morning was calculus, one that Saxa luckily excelled within. She had made a habit of day dreaming and robotically answering any questions that Mr. Bennett decided to test her with - it was the typical attempt at trying to catch her out, but thus far, he had failed at every turn.
But today was different. Today there was a face that Saxa had failed to notice up until now - and she considered for a moment that maybe the face was entirely new. 'Well, he certainly is quite handsome,' though as soon as Saxa realised she had thought the words, she was reminded that Edward Cullen was known for his ability to read his thoughts - 'Shit.'
Saxa made a beeline for her seat, but not before she gazed at Edward long and hard - she wanted to be prepared for any sharp movements, because now that the Cullen's had stood against the Volturi once and lived, what was stopping them from breaking the rules? For all she knew, Edward could have bared his teeth and tried to decapitate her in one fell swoop - but for the most part, Saxa seemed confident that he wouldn't.
All it took was a simple touch, a light brush of her fingertips against the back of his hand and along his wrist. Was it possible to feel beautiful? Saxa felt nauseous at the thought of such a compliment - but it was immediately replaced by the familiar and welcoming sensation that followed the use of her mimicking ability.
Edward Cullen could read minds, and now that Saxa had touched him, so could she - for a short while at least.
"Howdy, Mr. Cullen," Saxa focused for a moment after taking her seat, attempting to give her mental voice a humurous alluring sound, "oh, wow, this whole mind reading thing is pretty nifty. Did you hear how sultry I just was? Have you ever tried to think in accents? I dare 'ya - I'm Saxa, by the way, Saxa Vanguard - and I've travelled across a great big ocean to meet you, Cullen. Here's hoping your reputation holds up to the rumours. Winky face." Saxa giggled, but accidentally allowed the sound to escape her lips, earning her a rather strange look from the mop haired boy beside her.
