personality Rachel is a very intelligent and strong young woman. With a heritage like the Black family has, she had to be. She's the kind of woman that does whatever it takes to do what she needs to do. Whether that is for her family and friends, herself, her career, or others. She enjoys learning and is often found reading or learning something new. Rachel will try anything once but will let people know if she didn't like it the first time. She adores swimming being by the beach. She's also known to be very headstrong and can be argumentative if Rachel doesn't agree with someone. She doesn't trust very easily and it takes a long time for her to believe that people will stay in her life. Therefore, she doesn't make friends very easily and when she does have them, she holds onto them very loosely. About the only two that she's truly comfortable around are her father and brother, Jacob beings she hasn't seen her twin since they both left the reservation. BIOGRAPHY The Black family comes from a long line in the Quilete tribe, one with magic and one where the ancient stories and legends are true. Her parents carried on the Black name by giving birth to twin girls, Rachel and Rebecca. Her mother, Sarah was a painter and her father, Billy was a fisherman. The family of four was very happy together and became even happier when four years after the twins were born, Rachel's little brother followed suit. The twins loved Jacob to pieces! Rachel still remembers the first time he took his first steps, she was five and a half at the time. School was a breeze for her and she always got top grades. Rachel had hopes of going to college to become something great and then return to the home that she lived so dearly in order to raise her own family. Her sister had always wanted to leave, to go travel the world and never come back; even as a little girl. In 1999, time stopped for the Black family when their mother was in an accident that was so horrific that they had to have a closed casket. The dynamic of the family changed forever. Rebecca grew cold, angry, and rebellious in her teens. She was barely around the house long enough to say good morning or good night to everyone else. Little Jacob was hit hard but rebounded quite quickly, which in a lot of ways helped their father and herself stay funcionable. Their father stopped taking good care of his diabetes long enough for the disease to do permanent damage. After Billy was wheelchair bound, it hit him hard enough that he started taking much better care of himself. As Jacob got older, he helped Billy more and more. As for Rachel, herself, she did the best she could to help her father take care of Jacob and then helped Jacob to take care of their father. But as soon as she graduated high school, she started taking classes at Washington State University for computer science. Rebecca married and moved to Hawaii. After getting her college degree in four years, Rachel decided to come back to visit her brother and father. Her original goal was to simply visit for a little while and then leave to officially start her career! Now life has thrown her a massive curveball in the face of meeting her "soulmate". Paul Lahote imprinted on her as soon as their eyes met. Of course, at first, Rachel had no idea who this person was or why he was suddenly always wanting to be near her. But the more she learned that the legends of old are actually true and that not only were werewolves and vampires real but that Paul was a werewolf; suddenly her plans to leave changed.
