I just want something that I can never have...
After spending a few days at home to be near to the family, Rosalie had finally decided that she and Emmett needed a day away from everyone. They needed one day where they could laugh and be happy without thinking about everything that had occurred since Italy. Rose wanted to keep on keeping on and to begin to move past it. She knew that the Volturi wasn't going to let them not turning Bella slip under the radar, but she also knew that if they wanted even a semblance of a normal life that they needed to get out and have some fun. What did Rosalie find fun? Shopping. Who did Rosalie want to spend time with? Her husband that she was so grateful for finding.
the couple had been having a lovely day in Port Angeles. The clouds were high in the sky, blocking the sun, and they were walking around looking like two teenagers who were madly in love. Rose had found a couple of little knick knacks that she had picked up, along with some dresses that she had tried on that she knew wouldn't necessarily last long once her husband saw her in them. For the first time in a while, she felt completely happy and at peace. She was with her husband and they were having fun without any thoughts of the Volturi, Bella, or the wolves. There was nothing that could possibly begin to ruin their day together.
Nothing was what the blonde thought until the couple came upon a young blonde woman holding her dark-haired little boy as she laughed with her husband. Rosalie stared at them, her brain instantly taking her back to the week before her wedding as she saw her best friend, Vera, with her little boy, Henry. She couldn't help the jealousy that came over her like a wave crashing in the ocean. The smile that was on her lips faded as she continued to look, catching the attention of the woman who gave her a smile before getting up and following her husband as they walked towards one of the baby stores. The thoughts of having a family were something that never fully left Rosalie's mind, but they were something that she had grown to accept. She would never have a child and would never be able to start the family she had dreamt of starting since 1915. She loved Emmett with everything in her being, but he was only half of her dream. He filled the half where she wanted someone who would love her unconditionally and their love was fueled by a fire that could never dim. But because she was condemned to an eternal life of being a vampire, she would never be able to bear children which was the second part of the dream that she held onto so dearly.
"Can we go home now? I'm really not in the mood for any more shopping today." She let go of her husband's arm before crossing her own as she stalked off in the direction of the parking lot, clenching her teeth as she fought the urge to cry. She would not let her frivolous dream and the glaring similarities of that woman and Vera ruin her husband's day. It could - and likely would - ruin hers, but that was no reason to let it affect Emmett's.

HOLD ME IN THIS WILD, WILD WORLD cause in your warmth i forget how cold it can be and in your heat i feel how cold it can get | E mmett had liked living in Forks from the first time they had arrived in the sleepy little town all those years ago. Its’ almost permanent cover of cloud kept the Cullen’s from exposing what they really were and provided great hunting opportunities in the surrounding Olympic Peninsula forests. So after years had passed, he had been extremely pleased with the family’s decision to return. It had started out like any other transition. They pretended to be high school kids, while Carlisle played doctor at the local hospital and Esme, the doting stay at home mom. They kept to themselves and everything was calm. Then all hell had broken loose, because of a human. Well, more specifically all because Edward had fallen in love with a human. And of course, it hadn’t ended well. It resulted in the family being forced to leave the sleepy town and bunk down with their cousins in Denali before, his brother tried to commit suicide by provoking the Volturi…
Emmett had always been a happy-go-lucky, glass half full kind of guy; even when he had been human. So automatically he had liked Bella – she had been good for his brother, bringing him out of his shell just like the rest of the family had wished for him. Hell, Emmett was extremely thankful that she had been brave enough to go and save him in Italy – he already thought of her as part of the family. Plus, she was hilarious to watch and be around; she fell over a lot and generally got extremely flustered which amused the brawny vampire to no end. His wife on the other hand, had not been as supportive and accepting. No matter how much Emmett had tried to talk Rosalie into relaxing a little, she wouldn’t budge. And despite his view on the situation, he understood why she felt as she did. He knew that she wanted a human life with children and the whole shabam almost as much as she wanted to drink blood. It killed Emmett that he wasn’t able to give it to her.
Upon returning back to Forks, the family had been spending a lot of time together, walking on egg shells around Edward who had been rejected by his mate. Well… most people were stepping on egg shells; Emmett was as tactless as ever. As much as Emmett enjoyed being with the Cullen’s, he’s jumped at the chance to spend some time alone with his wife, even if it was going shopping. Shopping was a pastime that Emmett didn’t see the enjoyment in, he did however enjoy seeing the enjoyment on Rosalie’s face and being driven crazy by just how sexy she made anything she tried on, look. Boy, it had taken a lot of restraint on his behalf to behave in public around humans.
The day had been great. Emmett’s hand rarely left Rose’s hand, and when it did it was usually to rest on her hip or to allow her to try something on. To anyone around them, Emmett was sure they looked like two loved up teenagers that were newly involved. His trade mark grin was spread across his face as he strolled down the streets of Port Angeles. That was until he felt Rose freeze up beside him. Instantly, he tensed, ready to position himself between the danger and Rose. His golden eyes scanned the surroundings, his nose scanning the scents for something alien, but he found nothing. Just a few humans littered the streets, one female with a small child, but nothing out of the ordinary – nothing they hadn’t seen before on the streets of a town. ”Rose? What is it?” he questioned, a concerned frown etched into his brow.
As soon as she removed her arm from his and asked to go home, Emmett grew more concerned. This was completely out of character for her. Usually he had to bribe her to get her home and out of shops. Emmett followed her quickly, within a few steps, the vampire closed the gap that his wife had created between them and stopped in front of her, blocking her path. ”Rosalie, what is it? Talk to me, please.” It wasn’t like them to keep secrets from each other. Then again, he knew that Rosalie would tell him whatever was bothering her in her own time… but after that reaction from seemingly nothing, he wasn’t feeling the waiting game.

I just want something that I can never have...
Rosalie couldn't help the thoughts that ran rampant through her mind. She had been able to watch as humans procreated and had been fine. Sure, there was always a residual bit of jealousy simply due to the fact that they were living the life that she wanted, but it hadn't ever caused her to shut down. But being able to see someone who Rose could have mistaken for Vera with a child who was identical to Henry was something that Rosalie could have never prepared for. She couldn't prepare for the all-consuming jealousy that came over her. The thing that she was most shocked by was the wave of grief that she had felt while watching them. Grief for things that had happened in the past, grief for things being brought up in the present, and grief for the lack of children in her future all hit her like a ton of bricks.
The blonde knew as she walked that her husband would catch up with her in no time and would try to talk about what happened. He loved her and cared about her, and she knew that. She knew that this episode was completely unlike her normal self and that he would be worried. As Emmett blocked her path to the car, she looked up at him and took in his face. She could see every inch of concern that was spread across his face. She wanted to tell him that nothing was wrong and that everything was okay, but she could never lie to him. He was her constant and the only one that she ever felt one hundred percent confident in telling all of her secrets to. He was her soulmate, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
But how could she even begin to tell him what had happened back there? How could she tell him that there had been a woman who looked identical to her best friend from a lifetime ago who had a son that could have easily been mistaken as Henry? How could she tell him that as she looked at the stranger who seemed so familiar she felt the crushing force of jealousy that nearly paralyzed her? How could she tell Emmett that beneath all of the jealousy she had that she was also brought back to the night of her transformation? That by simply seeing her best friend's face in another world brought back what was easily the worst night of her life? She couldn't do that to Emmett, but she knew that she had to tell him. He was the only person she wanted to share everything with, and she knew that she had to share the bad parts. He knew about her past and still loved her. If he could do that, she knew in her heart that he would be able to handle this.
Rose sighed as she looked down before letting her eyes lock with Emmett's once more. She uncrossed her arms in order to reach and take a hold of one of his hands before looking past him at the family that had started this as they got into her car. "That little family looks identical to Vera's," she whispered before chuckling humorlessly as she blinked, rolling her eyes before looking back to her husband. "If I didn't know any better, I would have ran up to her as if she was my best friend from a lifetime ago and started catching up about how much she loved Henry and how her husband doted on her and their boy." She shook her head before looking down at her feet. "But it's not Vera and it's not a lifetime ago. It's not the worst day of my life, and even now as I stand here and am so grateful for having you and the rest of our family, I can't help but wish that I could have that life." She moved closer to him and wrapped her arms around him as she buried her face into his chest. "I want to have a family with you, and we're never going to get that chance."

HOLD ME IN THIS WILD, WILD WORLD cause in your warmth i forget how cold it can be and in your heat i feel how cold it can get | E Emmett had always been close to his family when he was human. He worked hard in order to provide for them, especially his mom, and then played even hard to reward himself for all his hard work. But upon waking up as a vampire and feeling that ever present burn at the back of his throat that thirsted for blood, he had know from that moment that he would never be able to go home to them again. So, he arranged for them to be taken care of financially – as he knew his ‘death’ would cause strain on them and their income – left it on their porch himself and never looked back. It was difficult, but he knew it would be for the best. And because he knew that, he didn’t pine to see them anymore. He didn’t get those urges to just drop in on the town in which he spent his human days. But he knew that others weren’t able to shut the door on their past as easily as he had, especially Rosalie.
Having a family of his own had never really come into thought during his days as a human. He drank and gambled his money away and was a self confessed womanizer. He liked flirting and dating and having fun. Emmett had seen the strain that having children had put on his own parents relationship and it had kind of put him off the whole idea. Why would he want to settle down with one woman, when he could have his pick of them all any night of the week? That was until he met Rosalie anyway. From the moment she found him, he had known that she was different – she was his forever; even before he knew that forever was in fact a reality. Don’t get him wrong, the idea of kids and having a family still wasn’t what he wanted – he was pretty content with it just being the two of them. But he knew that she wanted it; and what he did want was to make her happy.
Emmett had never pried into Rosalie’s past; he had let her share it with him in her own time. He’d learnt that she wasn’t someone who could be forced into sharing or doing things. In some ways, Emmett was the exact opposite. He was more than happy to go with the flow, do whatever was asked of him and share way to much information with anyone who stopped to say hello. But when she had finally told him, he’d wanted to wrap her up in a big bear hug and keep her safe. Externally, Emmett was the muscle of the family. He physically looked intimidating and threatening and generally someone you didn’t want to mess with. He was also quick to be sarcastic and make a witty comment. But with his Rose, he was a soppy teddy bear. It had crippled him to hear what she had gone through and what she had hoped and dreamed for; and the worst part was that he could only give her half of what she wanted.
Automatically, Emmett exhaled as Rosalie’s hands took a hold of his. His huge hands dwarfed hers, as their fingers intertwined. His golden gaze followed her over his shoulder as her melodic voice spoke. Instantly he understood her reaction. ”Oh babe,” he replied, feeling completely helpless. Normally he didn’t have to think of what to say to his wife to make her feel better, but he knew in this situation there was absolutely nothing he could say that could pacify her at all; but still he wracked his brain hoping to think of something… but nothing came. Vampires couldn’t have children. Freeing one of his hands from her grasp, he brought it to her face, cupping her cheek into his palm and lovingly grazing his thumb over her cheekbone. ”I wish I could give you that life, Rose, I really do. You know I’d give anything to make you happy right?”.
He let her bury her face into his chest, his arms circling around her and holding her close against him. ”We are a family. I am your family.” he reminded her. ”I know it’s what you’d hoped for. Hell, most couples that are struggling with fertility just go to the doc to get IVF or a surrogate – or even just adopt. Our situation is different to that. The best I can offer you; is a cat.” He joked, trying to lighten the mood ever so slightly. Emmett stroked his hands up and down his wife’s back. ”Come on, let’s go take a walk in the park. Clear our heads before heading back?” He knew standing still in the car park was eventually going to draw human attention, but he couldn’t bear the thought of going home yet. Not when Rosalie was upset and home had too many prying eyes and minds.

I just want something that I can never have... Rose looked at their hands as her husband's fingers laced with hers and she sighed as soon as she heard his voice when he realized what had happened. She wasn't upset with him for not realizing it as it happened; that would be ridiculous. Emmett had been the one to hold her when she finally opened up about her past, promising that he would be there to protect her. That was one of her favorite things about him: he had the same fierce sense of loyalty as she did. But how could he protect her from the nightmares of her past that manifested themselves in the form of memories?
during the two years in between her transformation and her finding Emmett, Rosalie had come to terms with what had happened to her the night of her transformation. After avenging what had happened to her, she thought that she would be completely okay and capable of moving forward with her life destined for eternity. But, what most didn't know, she was always looking back over her shoulder whenever she'd be out alone. She never gave anyone other than the Cullens a second look unless it was to make certain that they were keeping their distance from her. It was why when she had made her way to Tennessee, Rosalie felt the safest. Being in the Smoky Mountains and away from most of mankind, she had finally come to terms with everything in her past. And, as if it was fate, she had stumbled upon Emmett shortly after coming to terms. The rest was history, and he had become her future.
most of the time, their life together was enough for her. At the beginning, she struggled more with the jealousy of the humans who were capable of having their own children. But Emmett was always able to satisfy her and make her happy, and he did. He made her happier than she could even begin to have dreamt possible. Which was why when she felt his hand move to caress her face, all she could do was meet his eyes and nod her head slightly. "I know," she whispered before attempting to give him even a hint of a smile. And, boy, did she know that he would give anything to make her happy. He had done it time and time again with their multiple weddings and their trips together, just the two of them. To say she wasn't happy would be a lie; her life was full of happiness, thanks to Emmett. There was just the longing for the one thing that she could never have that dimmed her happiness: a child.
her cold, hard heart almost burst upon hearing his reminder that he was her family. He was part of the dream that she had longed to have, and being in his arms was enough to remind Rosalie how lucky she was to have found even half of her dream. She arched her back to look at him, taking in his face as she listened to him speak. She couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her lips upon the mention of a cat, her head shaking as she rolled her eyes. "I think I'm good without the cat," she said before sighing as she looked at him. "I'll be okay as long as I have you." She laid her head back against his chest for a moment, knowing they would have to move eventually to avoid the eyes and questions. She heard his suggestion before looking up at him and nodding her head. "That sounds like the perfect plan," she said as she leaned up to press a light kiss to Emmett's lips before moving out of his arms and reaching for his hand. "Lead the way, my love," she said while mustering up another smile for him as she moved to stay close to his side. Standing beside him, even without words being exchanged, was enough to get her sour mood to start to lighten up. His closeness and his love was enough to remind her that she had the most important part of her dream: unconditional love.
emmett knew the darkest parts of Rosalie and knew that going home was the last thing she would want, especially with the sad cloud that seemed ever present over their household. These little things were the things that made her realize that she was, regardless of how incomplete her dreams were, beyond lucky to have someone who understood her the way that he did. So when her eyes landed on him once more before they had moved, she couldn't help herself before leaning up and pressing one more gentle kiss to his lips. "Thank you for being you."

HOLD ME IN THIS WILD, WILD WORLD cause in your warmth i forget how cold it can be and in your heat i feel how cold it can get | T he connection that two vampires had when they mated was something that couldn’t be described, but only experienced. It was exactly like what the clichés described by novelists or how it was portrayed in chick flicks… or so Emmett thought anyway because it wasn’t like he’d ever seen any chick flicks or read any chick lit… Finding his mate in Rosalie meant that Emmett had found the other half of him. When they were apart, it was like his right arm was missing and when she was sad, he felt it too. She made him stronger; having his angel by his side and he’d be damned if he didn’t at least try to protect her and make her happy, even from those memories that were forever burned into her memory. How would he do that? He wasn’t exactly sure, but he’d try, for her.
Emmett didn’t dislike being a vampire as his wife did. In fact, it was the opposite for him. He enjoyed being a creature of the night, with undefined strength and speed. The myths and legends that surrounded his kind amused Emmett; Halloween was always a favourite time for him, watching humans dressing up like the stereotype descriptions of vampires and other creatures or participating in various idiotic rituals was hilarious to watch. Maybe it was just that Emmett was a child at heart, never taking things too seriously and always able to find something to laugh at. Plus, the lack of ability to change wasn’t something he fought with; change was overrated in his opinion anyway. Give him something to fight with and drink its blood, and a wife to love and spoilt and he was a happy Emmett. But he wasn’t stupid. He knew that while Rosalie loved him just as fiercely as he loved her, she always wanted more. She wanted the basic human life; love, growing old and a family in the form of children. But sadly, one out of three was all he could give her. Emmett returned her half smile with a tight smile of his own. Her words hung between them heavily. He hated feeling helpless. Being the muscle of the family, it wasn’t very often that he felt weak.
His golden eyes drank in his wife’s beauty as she peered up at him. Each time he looked at her, he was struck with how much he loved her and how beautiful she was. God damn, he was one lucky son of a gun. Her words made him chuckle lightly. ”That’s a shame. I totally thought we were cat people,” Emmett replied before dropping a small kiss onto Rosalie’s forehead. ”You’ll always have me, Angel. I’m not going anywhere.” For a moment, Emmett stood there with her in his arms, letting time pass around them, hoping that his touch was providing some form of comfort for her. He couldn’t begin to imagine what she was feeling after seeing that woman and her child, he tried to think about how it would feel to see his mom or a family member now, but he knew that would only mirror her despair to a certain extent. After all, he’d made peace with leaving his human life in the past. Emmett returned Rosalie’s gentle kiss gratefully – kissing her was something he’d never tire of. He couldn’t stop the grin that spread across his lips at her words. ”You are welcome. Remember that the next time I drop motor oil all over our room please?” he teased lightly, gently grazing his nose along hers in a loving manner.
Emmett grasped her hand in his, and entwined his fingers with hers and began to lead them towards the small park across the street. For a moment he walked in silence before his found the words bubbling out of his mouth before he could stop them. ”Hey, can I ask you something about Vera and Henry? Have you ever thought about checking up on them? I mean like finding out how their lives went?” Emmett had been able to close himself off and compartmentalize his human life and he was okay with not knowing how things were for his family… but he couldn’t help but wonder if that was what his wife needed. Some form of closure knowing what happened to Henry and Vera.

I just want something that I can never have... Rosalie had been happy since becoming a vampire, sure. She had found her heart's true match, and that was something that she was beyond grateful for. But she also craved the normality of a human life. She craved the growing old, getting married once, and having a ton of children running around as she became a stay-at-home mom. She wanted to look at a child - her child - and see the perfect combination of herself and Emmett. She wanted to grow old with her husband and watch after the grandchildren that their sons and daughters would give them. She wanted to give her daughter advice on her wedding day and wanted the mother/son dance after she had seen him marry the love of his life. She wanted everything that their lifestyle would never be able to provide, and knowing that destroyed all hope for her that she would ever be completely content with their eternity.
granted, an eternity with Emmett was much better than an eternity without him. He was enough to make her happy. She knew that in her heart. If he was all she would ever be able to have, she could most definitely be happy. But the what ifs of the world constantly plagued her mind as she thought about everything that they could have had if they had met as humans. She knew without the transformation that happened because of Carlisle, her future with Emmett would have never existed. But what would have happened if, by some miracle, they had met and had fallen in love? Would their lives still be destined for a future without children or would they have started a family? She knew that Emmett was happy with it just being them, and most days she was happy enough to be with him. Sadly, though, there were moments where she was overwhelmed with the feeling of helplessness and she couldn't fight away the thoughts that told her she needed children to be completely happy. Today had just happened to turn into one of those days.
her smile widened at his comment, her eyes rolling as she shook her head. She didn't know how he was capable of making her feel better, no matter for how short of a time, but she was grateful that he did. His arms wrapped around her made her feel safe, warm, and loved. She knew that, as long as she had him, everything would turn out alright for her. Even in spite of their damned eternities, they would forever have each other. She was more than okay with having him for the rest of their lives. She couldn't resist the urge to lightly smack his chest as he joked with her, shaking her head as she smirked. "Don't you even think about bringing motor oil into our room. We can be grease monkeys everywhere but the bedroom. That's off-limits," she teased before letting him take her hand and following him in the direction of the park that was nearby,
the silence was inviting, and Rosalie reveled in it for the brief time it was there. Then she heard Emmett's suggestion and she stiffened. She had thought about finding out what happened to them, but she could never bring herself to do it. She didn't want to see how they found their happy endings and she was destined to roam the earth without ever fully getting an ending. The idea of knowing that, even through death, Vera got everything Rosalie had ever wanted was enough to make her blood boil in envy. "No, I can't do that," she said quickly as she looked ahead at the path in front of them. "I'm not going to find out how they all got the happy endings I've been dreaming of since I was a little girl. I won't let that taint the way I see them." She sighed and then looked back to her husband and shrugged. "And, in the off-chance they didn't get a happy ending, how am I supposed to live this eternity knowing that they didn't get what they had dreamt of either? I care about them too much to know if anything awful happened, but I'd be too hurt to know for certain that they got everything I could ever imagine wanting. It's a lose-lose situation."

HOLD ME IN THIS WILD, WILD WORLD cause in your warmth i forget how cold it can be and in your heat i feel how cold it can get | A loud chuckle erupted through Emmett. He spent countless hours working on his jeep and bikes, which often resulted in him being covered in greasy motor oil. Alice had had several melt downs over the countless items of designer clothes that he’d destroyed in the process and Esme had kicked his ass on more than one occasion when he’d accidentally gotten oil over her cream sofa and carpet. ”Alright. But that would be a perfect excuse for you to redecorate.” Emmett shot her a cheeky grin over his shoulder as they wandered towards the park. Port Angeles was still relatively busy with human’s who were rushing around from shop to shop, chatting amongst themselves. But the vampire was oblivious to them now; his attention was firmly focused on his wife.
”Sure,” Emmett nodded his head in understanding at Rosalie’s words. He wouldn’t want to know if his family had suffered after his departure either; which was one of the reasons he’d turned his back on them once he realised that he couldn’t be involved with them. Why torture himself with wondering whether he could have helped if they had suffered. But for a moment, he found himself wondering what did become of his brothers and sisters. Did they marry? Have a family of their own? Did they stay in Tennessee, or move out of state? Did they even survive harsh times? He shook his head lightly, ridding himself of those thoughts. It didn’t matter… did it? ”But aren’t you hurting not knowing. Maybe it would be a good way to put it all to bed, once and for all; saves you from wondering.” He gave a light shrug of his shoulder and her hand a gentle squeeze. He wouldn’t push it any further. Emmett would support her no matter what she chose to do.
Upon entering the park, Emmett began leading them both towards the large pond in the centre. It was peaceful here. He rarely thought about what life would be life if they were human, but now he found his thoughts once again wandering. His own memories of human life were fuzzy at best, so it was difficult for him to really consider it. Of course they’d still be as crazy in love as they were now; they were soul mates after all. Rosalie was beautiful outside of her vampire beauty; he’d be a lucky son of a gun to be married to her. And of course their children would be beautiful. Images of a small blonde haired girl, with bright blues eyes – like he had had when he was human - filled his mind, giggling as he swung her around in his strong arms. Rosalie sat nearby nursing a small baby boy with thick curly black hair. It was a perfect picture; Emmett understood why it appealed so much to his wife. ”Have you ever thought what our family would be like?” he mused out loud. He knew it was a dangerous topic to broach, especially after what had just happened, but he found himself curious now.
A small bench, nestled at the side of the pond came into view and Emmett directed them towards it, taking a seat carefully on the rotting wood. Patting the seat next to him, he extended his large arm across the back of the bench, beckoning Rosalie to snuggle against his side.

I just want something that I can never have... The chuckle that bubbled out of Rosalie was something that she couldn't control. She loved working on her cars, and she definitely enjoyed watching Emmett work on his jeep and bikes. But it was always quite obvious to her which one of them was better at staying clean while they worked. She walked with him to the park, her eyes rolling as she smiled up at him. "I don't need an excuse to redecorate," she teased, nudging him with her shoulder as she gave him a light smirk. "I'm sure you enjoy watching the redecoration as it happens, especially since I don't let you touch any of it."
Rosalie listened to him, shaking her head as he spoke. Was there a part of her that wanted to know what had happened to her closest friend? Absolutely. But was that part of her willing to ruin what she had thought of Vera in order to find out? No, and it never would be. That was the thing about Rosalie: she knew that she was a very easy person to get jealous. She could have everything with Emmett that she did, but she would always be craving and wanting more. She knew that if they had been humans and had children, she would be waiting for the day that the kids went to school so that she could watch them grow and learn. Then it would be waiting until the day they got their college acceptance letter so that she could boast about how her children were the most intelligent. She would be complete being a mother, yes, but she would always be looking for how to be the best and being jealous of anyone who did it better. Vera had what she would never be able to have, and as long as the ending was unknown, Rosalie could ward off some of the envy that constantly plagued her. "I'm not going to find out because it's not going to change that I want something that I'm never going to have."
Fantasizing about a human life was something that Rosalie did quite frequently. She always pictured a life where it could have been different. She pictured a life where she would look in the mirror and have a meltdown over finding a grey hair because it showed that she was getting old. She envisioned a life where she would find stretch marks on her body and be so proud of them because they represented the lives that she had carried and brought into the world. She could see the family that she would want with Emmett, and it was everything she could have dreamt of and more. She heard her husband's voice and looked at him before giving him a small smile as she followed him. She watched him as he sat down on the bench by the pond, and she beamed as she took her place by his side, snuggling into him as she looked out at the pond.
"I always saw us with at least four children," she started, a smile forming on her face as she watched the water. "Our first child, in my mind, was always a boy with dark, curly hair with violet eyes like mine. We named him Tucker Brooks, and he was so excited when we told him he would have a baby sibling." She chuckled, picturing it in her mind before sighing happily. "What would surprise us is that we'd have identical twin girls with blonde hair and your beautiful blue eyes. We chose the names Magnolia Grace and Caroline Daisy, but we called her by her middle name to keep with the flower theme we had going." She looked up at her husband and twirled her fingers in the hair that sat at the back of his neck. "Then, when we least expected it, we would find out we were having another baby boy and I saw you and Tucker getting so excited because living with three girls was a lot." She laughed softly and then looked back out to the pond. "His name was Davis Parker and he looked exactly like you except for the texture of his hair. He grew up to be such a daddy's boy and Tucker loved being around his mama." She looked back to her husband and smiled. "Magnolia would cling to me as if every time I left, it meant I would be leaving her. But Daisy? She was a tom boy that liked to rough house with you and little Davis. She wanted to grow up and be a mechanic because she loved working on the cars with you, while Magnolia just wanted to grow up and be a mother and find someone who treated her the way she saw you treat me." She laid her head against her husband's shoulder before continuing, "Tucker decided he wanted to be a lawyer so that he could take care of us and make us proud since he was the oldest, and Davis wanted to be the perfect gentleman and have a practical job so that he could go home and be the best daddy to his kids because he learned how to do that from the best." She smiled and sighed softly, turning her head so she could look up at her husband. "So, yes. I have thought about what our family would be like. Our family would be perfect and loved and so full of happiness."

HOLD ME IN THIS WILD, WILD WORLD cause in your warmth i forget how cold it can be and in your heat i feel how cold it can get | A nother chuckle roared through Emmett. It was true, Rosalie and Esme and Alice for that matter, didn’t need an excuse to redecorate their homes. Eternity was a long time and they had to keep themselves busy somehow. Sometimes redecorating was just a task they undertook for something to do, just like Emmett when he took apart his jeep piece by piece just to put it all back together again; sometimes in a different order. It was a messy job, but one he enjoyed greatly. ”That is true,” he agreed with a soft nod of his head. ”I’m pretty sure I came home once from a hunting trip with Jasper and you girls had redecorated everything. Was that the time you decided to switch all the rooms around too? Which lead to mass confusion and some awkward encounters?” The fact that all of the family were vampires meant that they were all strong and capable of carrying, moving or doing anything physical like rearranging the furniture with little help. Emmett was often barred from helping though, thanks to his smart arsed sarcasm. However, he still offered his services, seen as he was the strongest member of the family and of course because he was a gentleman.
”Sure, I understand that.” When one becomes a vampire, they are frozen at the exact moment of their life that they were transformed. That included likes, dislikes, hopes and fears, talents and skills as well as personal traits. They become magnified and embedded in the type of vampire that you become and it never changed. Emmett always loved to hunt wild animals and was a natural fighter and brawler thanks to his size; hell, his cause of death was being mauled by a black bear after he tried hunting it. And now, he loved to hunt and play with his food before he fed on them – black bears were his favourite. A desire to have a family was never one he had, meaning it wasn’t one he really had now. He wanted to make Rosalie happy, and he knew that a family was one of the things that would make that happen. Personally he was happy it just being the two of them, he couldn’t get enough of his wife. ”Changing the topic slightly, I have been thinking about checking up on my human family. I’m curious to see what became of them,” He wasn’t sure whether he’d actually do it. He’d made a promise to himself when he’d first been turned that he’d leave them in peace. But it was an option he found himself thinking more and more about recently.
Emmett hadn’t realised that he was holding his breath until his wife finished speaking. He’s hung on every single word that she had uttered, picturing it all crystal clear in head as if he was watching it on a high definition television. He hadn’t expected her to go into so much detail as to include names and personality traits. He’d only imagined what they’d look like. Rosalie never failed to take Emmett’s breath away, even with something that he knew was causing her emotional conflict. His golden eyes focused on her face, drinking in every feature and every emotion that flickered across it. Raising his large hand, Emmett cupped her cheek lovingly, peering deep into her eyes before dropping his head to hers and pressing love filled kiss to her lips. He let all of his emotions about her and what she’d just describe pour into the kiss. ”That does sound like a perfect family,” he whispered, ”But do you know what makes it perfect to me?” The question hung in the air for a moment as he pressed another kiss to her soft lips. ”You.”
Sitting back up straight, curling his arm tighter around his wife, Emmett gazed out across the pond. ”Were do you think we’d live? I could see us on a farm. Like the one I grew up on. Maybe we’d even be living on that exact farm in Tennessee.” He and Rosalie were from extremely different backgrounds; she was from money while his family lived pay cheque to pay cheque. But despite that, he could picture her, sat on their porch at night with a glass of wine after they had been on a horse ride through the ranch. ”Or maybe with a vineyard in our back garden.” He would have never been the office, stockbroker, wall street guy that she’d dreamt once of marrying, he was much more tactile with his hands.
