Esme Anne Cullen ~Thank you for showing me that true love doesn't hurt when you fall...~ general info
personality Esme is very sweet and kind, comforting and nurturing. She is devoted to her husband Carlisle and to the well-being of her family. She loves cooking and is famous among the Shifters for her Frisbee-sized cinnamon rolls. She has degrees in architecture and art and enjoys photography. BIOGRAPHY Esme Anne Platt was born in 1895. Living on a farm with her family near Columbus, Ohio, she spent her childhood years happy and carefree, but as she got older Esme began to struggle as she was pushed to transition into the dictated behavior that was considered appropriate for young women in that era. Despite this, she maintained a fun-loving, tomboyish lifestyle during her teen years. Not long after Esme turned 16, she was injured while enjoying a day of adventure. She fell out of a tree she was climbing and broke her leg. The town's doctor was busy elsewhere, however; but a new doctor was available. His name was Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Esme was secretly intrigued by Carlisle. His charming, polite manner and his genuine kindness enchanted her, and she was drawn to him. Sadly, Carlisle did not become a permanent physician in town, but left shortly after their encounter. However, he remained in her heart. As time passed, all of Esme's friends found husbands and settled down. Although she dreamed of love herself, Esme couldn't forget Carlisle and her heart was never satisfied with any suitor. Seeking other options, Esme expressed her desire to become a teacher and head out West. Her father rejected the idea, saying it was inappropriate for women to live alone, especially out in the wilderness of the West. He insisted she marry a suitor he'd selected: Charles Evenson. While Charles was several years older than Esme, her father claimed Charles was a wise choice as a husband. Esme had no feelings for Charles but as she had nothing against him she agreed to marry him to make her father happy. Almost immediately Esme realized the marriage had been a catastrophic idea. While out in public together Charles acted the perfect husband and gentleman. Once alone, he showed a completely different personality. He was a cruel, bad-tempered scoundrel who physically abused her. As if this weren't bad enough, when Esme sought help from her parents, they refused to believe her and told her to go back to her husband and remain silent about everything. With her parents denying her refuge and nowhere else to go, Esme had to endure the never-ending nightmare. She had a brief respite while Charles was enlisted as a soldier in WWI, but the abuse resumed when he came back unharmed years later. Shortly after Charles' return, Esme discovered she was pregnant. This realization gave her the courage and determination to run away. She secretly went to live with a cousin of hers who lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After a short time there Charles somehow discovered Esme's location, causing Esme to once again disappear. She made her way to Ashland and took on the facade of a war widow to protect her identity. She also fulfilled her long-forgotten desire and became a teacher. Esme's life began to come together as she envisioned a bright future for herself and her unborn baby, whom she already loved dearly. Tragically, only 2 days after being born her child became severely sick and died. Left stunned, reeling with the shock and utter depression of this loss, Esme could no longer find any will to live. She made her way to a cliff nearby and threw herself off in an attempt to end her life. However, she was not killed immediately by the fall but instead survived and was brought, unconscious, to the hospital. When she did wake up, Esme was in agony. Unknown to her, she was in the middle of her vampiric transformation. In spite of that, she was astounded to find Carlisle by her side once more. As her pain faded and the transformation was completed Carlisle revealed to her what he'd done, and that he'd saved her life. To Carlisle's relief Esme was not unhappy with her new life. Even though being a vampire was tough at first and she wasn't completely able to resist the alluring scent of human blood, she learned to embrace Carlisle's "vegetarian" lifestyle. Esme had never forgotten Carlisle, and her love was quickly reciprocated. Soon after she and Carlisle were married. Esme became a mother figure for Edward Cullen, and eventually for the rest of the Cullen family. During Twilight, Esme warmly welcomed Bella Swan into the family, hoping that Edward had finally found his true love. In her role as mother, Esme had always been worried about the fact that Edward was still alone. When James was hunting Bella, Esme willingly wore an outfit that carried Bella's scent to help confuse and mislead him. When James figured out the trick and took off, Esme joined forces with Rosalie to protect Charlie Swan, Bella's father, while the rest of the Cullens went after James. In New Moon, Esme was present at Bella's birthday party when Bella cut herself, resulting in everyone but Carlisle and Bella leaving the house after the family narrowly prevented Jasper from attacking Bella. As Bella left the house after being patched up she passed Esme cleaning up the mess. After Edward was saved and everyone was back in Forks, Esme has focused on Edward, seeking to help heal the broken heart of her beloved son. | ooc info ☆ NAME Cinder ☆ AGE 26 ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS n/a ☆ TIMEZONE EST (DST now) ☆ HOW DID YOU FIND US?
